    Normalize to balance album?

The JS crest factor meter in reaper and the master's RMS meter will help you a lot, theres a lot of info at bob katz's site on how to set it up

    This is so depressing =[

Thats the problem, its hard to find a laptop with a TI chipset. Not all macs have TI chips, in fact I'm not sure any do at this point. Their decision to go with Lucent/Argere recently didn't seem to make as much of a stir as you would think.

    This is so depressing =[

This is a really deep subject, actually a whole bunch of them, that comes up all the time, but you'd really have to read the lines to get the answers you need. Its such an amazing PITA to get things setup, especially laptops running RICOH, Lucent or NEC chipsets. Its doable, but man....

DrummyQ is out! My first plugin

I wouldn't say notch, as each has a bandwidth control. This is the way I have typically eq'd my drums, especially to get them sounding the way they do solod, once in a heavy mix. There are other frequencies you may want to mess with using a conventional EQ. I made this plug because this is...

DrummyQ is out! My first plugin

Thank you very much! Let me know how much CPU MuZQ eats on your system. On my AMD its about 10%, trying to get it lower

    MuZQ, Note based EQ

I usually assume that when someone is going to be using an eq like this on dealing with specific notes, theyre probably going to want a fairly wide q when boosting, in order to smooth the transitionbetween the weak note at the center and the stronger notes surrounding them. But at the same time...

    MuZQ, Note based EQ

The little faders are for Q controls, the knobs are gain. I need to put markers on that better. I had the plugin at 800x800 with a lot more description on it, but people were screaming bloody murder about it being so big. This GUI is certainly still a work in progress. Mostly all three of...

    MuZQ, Note based EQ

Thanks! Lots of food for thought! If I do like C1 and C2 and such, the download will be about 7 megs. You think that's too big? I used the WDL/iPlug framework for this plugin so that I would be able to do mac and 64 bit versions easier. Not to mention how well iplug stuff seems to be running...

    MuZQ, Note based EQ

Yup, made it myself, finally learning to code. A lot of the plugins I want are so specific, with such limited appeal, that it is hard to convince people to build them, so its just time for me to learn. The octave thing I need to deal with. The lows are at the top starting from C1. I need to...

    Powerful Mac G4?

My Core2Duo dell laptop, with the absolutely horrible ricoh chip (if you are getting a mac, try very hard to get the excellent TI version instead of the Lucent or Argere) easily does 64 buffers for 24 tracks in of 24 bit 44khz with 10 outputs when using motu or rme drivers That's on the stock...
