Yep, the other leg went to the junction of tube pin 1 and R2.
I made this schematic to reflect the edits I've made:

I removed the cathode follower circuit by removthing the connections to 6,7,8 of the tube, connecting them together, and to ground.
I'm having problems getting proper voltages on my tube pins on a Nady 1050. I've read amzavareei's thread regarding the problems he was having, but can't exactly determine my problem yet.
Here's what I've done
1. Removed the CF
2. Removed C9 and C10
3. Replaced C1, C2, and C8
4. Replaced...
The 414 would have a pretty different sound than a 460 with CEK-12 capsule. The CEK-12 capsule in the 460 would probably be closer in sound to a C12 than 414. This is due to the body and grill design, one of the MAJOR factors influencing the sound of a microphone.
Hi,
I think I've read all the threads regarding the Nady and Apex tube mics here and on other forums. I want to attempt to remove the CF from my mic, but want clarification before I do.
A couple of explanations were given by Marik and Gus, both could mean the same thing, but I can't tell...
I don't have the OneQ, but you could open it up and look. If you think there is any weakness in the unit, look at the components in that section.
I personally thought everything in the ThreeQ sounded good, but sometimes the attack and release of the compression induced unmusical random pumping...

I've got a Apex 460 with a stock circuit with capsule (CE
k-367), capacitor, tube (EH 6072A/12AY7EH) and transformer (cinemag) upgrades. C8 has been removed from the circuit as well. Believe it or not, the only mod I haven't tried is the grill mesh mod. I look up in there and there appears to...
I replaced the 8 or 9 SL brand TLO72 (53 cents), for Texas instruments "improved" version-the TLE2072CP ($2.25) . Yes these are a pin dual JFET opamps I think.
From the TI datasheet:
description
The TLE207x series of JFET-input operational amplifiers more than double the bandwidth and triple...
Just for fun, I replaced the TLO72 with the Texas Instruments "impoved" version of the chip (several times more expensive). I think the compressor had a more stable attack and release with these chips, especially when massive amount of comression are used, but I don't think I like the eq and...
Has anyone noticed a zobel on the stock transfomer?
Also, would a pad be as necessary if you upgraded that opamp like an OPA2604? That's what I've done with mine.
