    Absorber const/placement/faced or unfaced

you'll want to cover as much of the corners as you can because of the amount of reflection you say is occurring. but, i'm one to say that something is better than nothing, so if you can only frame a 4'x2' in the corners do that. i would guess floor-to-ceiling would be best if you can do it (aka...

    Absorber const/placement/faced or unfaced

most of what you're asking is out of my scope of knowledge, but you definitely want to use "trap 1" as you build your traps and mount them with the air gap facing the wall. are you using an old kitchen? what's with all the built-in cabinetry? i'm wondering if someone who responds will suggest...

    Question about room treatment...

HUGE. i've heard it can actually make vocals sound eerily dry... with NO natural reverb at all. this may not be a problem since you can add whatever FX during mixing anyhow. just something to think about. but as far as isolating mic/vocals, it's great.

My Latest Project - 703 Panels

i just used 2 screws for each panel and left them (screws) out of the wall about an inch and hung the panels like you would a picture frame - only no wire or hangers on the frames themselves. i guess you'd call that free-hanging frames? i'd like to eventually get some L-brackets and offset the...

    BillyBo, new album, new sound

word up. thanks everyone. i haven't been around for a while. here's a quick breakdown: bought a home, spent 3 weeks fixing it up before moving in, moved in, unpacked, built my 703 panels (pics in link), cleaned up the office/studio room, music halted again for 3 weeks to finish interior house...

    making absorbers

more will chime in, but solid-backed would almost be the same as mounting an open-back panel right up against the wall. as long as there's an air gap of some sort behind the insulation, it should be okay. just so you know, it *is* recommended that you mount an open-back panel away from the wall...

need some clarification here . .

pic 1 definitely looks like 703. it's not pink and fluffy like the fiberglass you DONT want to be using for making acoustic panels (see my thread "my latest project - 703 panels") pic 2 is Auralex foam. it's the "good" foam. maybe the only foam i'd suggest getting if you were to go that route...

My Latest Project - 703 Panels

one final picture... this one i was able to take the once-useless hangers for a door mirror from walmart and screw them to the back of the frame and hang a panel from the back of the door when it's shut. i feel special. :D

My Latest Project - 703 Panels

yeah, it sucks. i used to work for FedEx, my wife still does, and i know they make a buttload of money from shipping costs. FINISHED! and lookin sexy. i can already tell a big difference, but my ears are so NOT used to this it's kinda funky not hearing echos from claps and snaps.

My Latest Project - 703 Panels

yeah. i ordered parts of the project at different times. $93.73 for the 703, shipped. that was the most expensive part. the next expensive, but not really, was the pine boards. i chose the nice ones that weren't warped, and like i said above, they were 3.29 each. so that was $33. after that...

My Latest Project - 703 Panels

if you've seen one, you've seen them all, but here are pics of my latest project. 6 2'x4' 703 panels, wrapped in burlap. it was fun. thanks for more than a year of HR/bbs to teach me that this was a better bet than Auralex or "bed padding". my spare room/office is 8'x9' with 8' ceilings. not...

    auralex-like foam on Craigslist

or straight auralex. but i've chosen to go with 703 thanks to all of you wonderful people in this section - and i heard it works better than any foam. i'm hanging 5-6 4x2x2" panels in my 8x9 office/studio/spare bedroom. it only for vocals, but the reflections are terrible. i'll post pics soon...

    Bass lines in mixing

parametric EQ or mulit-band compression would be what i'd try, then see which gives you the sound you wanted.

Is it ok to sell a downloadable software to someone if you dont use it anymore?

i would think it's okay to sell the software and the registration key as long as you don't have the software installed anymore. more directly though, it would depend on the license agreement of the software. if you need to register it online for it to work, or something to that effect, then you...

    Solved MySpace quality?

i'd say the bitrate is anywhere between 32 and 96 kbps. so, 64 is a good bet. ;)
