    For Newbies Please Read

This place is the best source of info I've found, PCRecording included IMO. I ran across PCRecorcing.com last week, and it's certainly a great site. However... Speaking for myself as a newbie for about two years now, there were times when I was frustrated, my head was spinning, and my grasp...

    Monitoring Options

Thanks for the link. They look too good to be true. The kits for around $145 and less are especially appealing, and in my price range I'm looking for (if the refinance on my mortgage comes through, that is). Right now I'm using a pair of Morel MLP 403s through a Yamaha A 700 integrated amp...

    Monitoring Options

Are there any kit speakers or blueprints available for monitors? I've looked around, but all I can find is HI FI kits. If I cound build a decent pair myself for low $$$'s, I'd be sooooo happy. Denis

    Connections

I bought one of those 602A's myself a couple of months ago. I'm embarrassed to say, but I'd been struggling to frame a question about what's holding me back in my beginner's learning curve state, with regard to recording. Your question was mine as well, but I didn't know how to put it. Asking...

    Home Studio Keyboard Recommendations

HomeRec, Sorry, I think I was talking out the wrong oriface, there. The 540 does indeed have what I thought was lacking. Maybe it's the wrong term. What I meant was, if I press a key down and vary the pressure, the volume is unaffected. Aftertouch? I don't remember... I'm glad to hear...

    Home Studio Keyboard Recommendations

Hi HomeRec, I've got a PSR-540, and it's ok. The thing I don't like is that the keys aren't senmsitive to after touch... maybe not a big deal, but I some of the tunes in my head need it. I'm far from a pro, a newbie my self, so my only real advice is: DON'T rush into anything... if you don't...

    sound forge synch

Hey dere, Sound Forge can only deal with one track (either mono or stereo). For multitrack recording, you need something like : CakeWalk Home Studio Sonor Sonic Foundry Vegas... There's tons of these apps, some free/share-ware, some for $, some for too many $ Check out the...

    cakewalk and psr330

I've got a PSR-540 hooked up to my PC and use Home Studio. I don't know if this helps, but it took me forever to get a little of this music technology stuff into my brain, and I was grateful for info, whether the advice answered my question or not (Alright, Blu Bear Sound, I admit it... I was a...

    unwanted sounds interfering with recording

Chances are this isn't the problem, but... I had a similar problem, picking up a hum and other noises during playback. When I disconnected the mic from my LiveDrive, it went away. Not sure what caused it... Anyone who knows more than I (and that would be just about everyone around here) care...

    The wonderful "ROOM" sound

Hey Chuck, About hanging the blankets: 1. Do you mean to hang them over the guitarists' head, or just one to each side? 2. How high off the floor should they be hung? This technique sounds interesting to me, and I'll probably try it during the nest six months. I'm looking for this kind of...
