Starchaser. Rock song by The Story of the Sun

Nice kick and low end is smooth. The mix sounds fairly balanced really. I might wetten the drums slightly, maybe the OH mic. The snare is fine, but am wanting a more trebly crack with some more OH space to it. Nice chromatic switchup at the 2:07 mark. Very 90s punk/alternative nostalgia vibe -...

    Need your opinion

B is the best for me. C is a close second, but C is a bit too harsh and missing some low end or low mids. Almost sounds like version C is scooped slightly on EQ. A is the muddiest of the 3. Version B has the best balance and the guitars almost sound wider and more stereoized.

    Synth-rock anthem inspired by "Dune"

Thanks for the feedback Bull. Wasn't sure if the heavy vocal treatment was fitting for the track or unpleasant. Anyone else?

    Synth-rock anthem inspired by "Dune"

My attempt at a blistering synth-rock epic inspired by Frank Herbert's sci fi masterpiece. Curious on 1.) Overall impressions, 2.) Mix quality and professionalism. Is it too wild? Or does it actually work? Streaming Link: "The Spice Felange"

    How juicy?

I might cut some low end off those guitars as they sound slightly muddy - but really not bad and the panning is nice. Classic hard left/right different takes? The playing/performance is quite good as well. Just polish those drums up and maybe add some reverb and you're set. And throw down some...

Some 12-string jangle! Mix opinions please...

Mix sounds quite balanced honestly. If I had to nitpick, I'd raise the bass slightly. Real nice composition - but where is the 12 string? Is that the lead? It sounds like an electric? A 12 string electric? How long have you been playing/writing?

    Wicked Game (cover)

Heavenly strat tones and soulful playing. I'm guessing you used an amp sim with almost no gain? Essentially DI recorded? Drums, bass and vocals are well balanced. Love the sultry, gravely vocals. Sounds better than Isaac's semi-corny rockabilly coo'ing!

    "Warm Like A Gun" - funk/rock/synth fusion

Hey guys - I blended three of my favorite genres with this. I THINK it's ready for release, but would really appreciate knowing what you guys think.

Feedback on Mix and Master ElectroPop

The beat drops are hot. Processional and assured power. Love the overdriven vocals too. Mix sounds quite good really. How long have you been producing? Fulltime hobby or semi professional?

a modern blues - "Neon Blues"

Love me some Bats Brew! Very clean production as always. I'm hearing some smooth, thick guitar sustains - very Joe Satriani here. Very nice - especially those harmonies. Great chord change t the 2:50 mark. Real kickass guitarwork in the final quarter - particularly that wah. How are you doing...

"MX5" - Experimental synthwave and hip hop blend

TSOTS, thanks for the listen. Yes the highs are indeed emphasized. On the master bus I'm using a little excitation to brighten the "air" of the mix's high end. I thought it sounded good - but perhaps it's indeed much. Does anyone else think the high end is too much?

"MX5" - Experimental synthwave and hip hop blend

Hey guys I know this is a pretty unconventional song for this forum, but figured I'd share it anyway. What do you guys think? Linked to my reddit post since the SC link fails here for some reason: Synthwave hip-hop genre bender I'''m working on...going for a fresh sound - does it slap? ...

    Push And Shove (Demo)

The guitar and drums don't really sync at all. But the guitar by itself is kind of cool actually. Sad and searching. The vocals have a bit too much bass but I appreciate their unintelligible, abstract nature. Sometimes our feelings can't be articulated in words but through sound. The guitar...

WILD ONE by The Story of the Sun

Good heavens, this thing sounds really well mixed and mastered. Was this done by a third party professional? Are you guys a band? Sounds fat and awesome. Guitars are panned nicely - how many layer of guitars are going on, just a simple left and right pan from two takes? Drums are awesome and...

"The Spice Felange" - synthwave rock inspired by "Dune"

The goal was indeed for it to be a constant onslaught of sound. It will make more sense within the context of the album it is being released on. And yes, I intentionally titled it "Felange" because I thought "Melange" was too obvious/generic...so I swapped it to "Felange" as a subtle reference...

    Superstar Baby Mix/Master Feedback

Real nice improvements! The reverb on the opening guitar arpeggiations sounds great. Same with the lead solo. Definitely sounds fatter now. Glad you're liking my new tracks. They're all a part of an electronic-rock album that I should complete sometime next year. Hope you've been hanging in...
