New Death Metal Mix (need feedback)

I like your mix better. I'm not a big fan of reverb or delay. The guitars and bass sound out of tune with each other on both versions. I'm listening through a pair of LT-100 headphones. They were in a box of promo crap we got from Logitech about 5 years ago.

I have roughly $800 to spend on recording equipment... suggestions

If you had $1500 you could get what you need at Musicians Friend. The Fostex VF160 can record 8 tracks at once. That's enough to mic a drum kit. I've even used 4 mics on drums and the other 4 on guitars, bass and vocals. Fostex VF160ex package-$1100 (vf160ex, monitors, headphones, a couple of...

Brother can you spare a mix?

An IP address in Finland was trying to hack my guys server, so he had to shut it down. He says it's secure now. I should have the WAV files and reference MP3s for all 13 songs available for download in a few days. It takes a while to upload thirteen 180MB folders. PM me if you want to take a...

Thanks for the tips. I'll get right on that after I'm done washing your car, chessrock! :D Are you sure you just want your balls licked?

Brother can you spare a mix?

I was told if I posted this here I might get some replies: I'm in a bit of a pickle. My teenage daughter says she mistakenly sat on my Fostex vf160. Just a little, she says. As soon as she realised her ass was not on the loveseat, she hopped up. Never mind that I have had my gear set up there...

Brother can you spare a mix?

I'm in a bit of a pickle. My teenage daughter says she mistakenly sat on my Fostex vf160. Just a little, she says. As soon as she realised her ass was not on the loveseat, she hopped up. Never mind that I have had my gear set up there for almost 2 years. Any way, most of the faders are no longer...

    HONDO GUITARS, anybody ???

I bought a Hondo Warlock copy in the spring of 1985. I thought I was the baddest motherfucker around... until i found out it was a copy, that is. After a summer of work I had a real B.C. Rich NJ Warlock and a Peavey Renoun 400. Then I was the baddest motherfucker for sure! Don't remember much...

    Bass with guitar amp?

Guitar speakers aren't designed to move much air. Running bass through a guitar cab will force the coils of the speakers to move too much, possibly blowing the speakers. Get a DI box, plug your bass into that and run it into the mixer.

I use GHS Boomer .008 strings and Dunlop JazzIII picks. My strings are light and my picks are heavy.

BUSS recording with compressor on vf160

I've got my drums on tracks 1 and 2. I want a compressed copy of them on tracks 9 and 10. I plan on using both compressed and uncompressed tracks in the mix. I'm thinking what I need to do is BUSS record tracks 1 and 2 to tracks 15 and 16 with the compressor on then use track exchange to get...

how do u write ur lyrics

I will come up with a music arrangement that is more often than not completely recorded before I mess with lyrics. On my latest project I had all of the instruments on 9 out of 13 songs tracked before I wrote one word. My songs generally do not have a chorus section, so I will go into Power...

does anyone know what Emergenza is?

If you mean it's bunk as in you won't actually get to play some where then you are wrong. I played at one of the first round show things. I was sitting in on bass with these guys who entered the contest. I got a few sets of Ernie Ball strings out of it. But yeah, it is sort of a scam because...

i need a drum machine that can remember whole songs.

Yeah, the SR-16 can do that. A few things to be aware of though. You cannot automatically change tempo from pattern to pattern during a song. The beats-per-pattern are fairly large. I've had to adjust the arrangements of a few songs to accomodate gaps. A quick succession of cymbal or snare hits...

    packaging cd's

I've seen stuff done on a Bravo II. It's okay. Don't know about long term usage or operating costs(ink) though. With printable CDRs, jewel cases, jewel case inserts, shrink bags and ink(don't forget the ink!), you will be paying around 3 bucks a pop. With glossy paper and 4 sided inserts it will...

    aux send/return on vf160ex

Nah, I don't think so. I had a Tascam PortaOne 4-track cassette from 1986 to 1990. I completely ignored this recording stuff until April 2004, when I bought the vf160. I think it has to do with reading comprehension and attention span. Although I did download a PDF manual and read it three or...

    aux send/return on vf160ex

I don't get it either. Seems pretty clear and straight forward to me. I've got the vf160.

Gibson Models Vs. Same Epiphone Models...

I've had a Gibson LP Studio and an Epiphone LP Studio. They didn't seem to play or sound all that differently. The finish on the Gibson was better, but that doesn't effect playability or sound.

    Michael Angelo

There was a recent issue of Guitar World that had a lesson, article and poster featuring MAB. I didn't find the lesson too useful. Just a bunch of alternate picking exercises with some "look how far I can stretch my fingers" intervals and tapping. It's two guitars(one right handed, one left...
