I can't tell you from expereince...don't have any yet but the latest Tape OP (and a subscription is absolutley free in the continetal USA) at tapeop.com there is an article about experimenting with the media you mount it to and I think they listed some of the other mods you mentioned as well.

Yeah they seemd to specialize in the digital delay gear and most of them had flanging and chorus capabilities. Then they came out with the guitar and bass preamps with tube and solid state plus MID and multi effects. Les Claypool was a big endorser for a few years.
