I need an 8 track recorder to record practice sessions. Nothing fancy is needed, just something to record that day's practice so all of us can play along with it during the week and come back the next week with the songs perfect.

I have my Q10 in a custom built PC. Everytime I go to open the Direct Pro Manager or Aardvark Manager I get the error "The procedure entry point SMapLS could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll". Was that ever fixed, or am I just going to have to do without the managers...

The budget isn't too grand. We are looking at a Canon GL1, the best would be an XL1. The Fostex FR-2 seems too be a little too high for us. Is there anything like that (portable), but cheaper?
