OK, by process of elimination I've found that the culprit is the "dynamics" plugin on C4. When I remove this plugin, the pop goes away. Is there any Cubase plugin setting that I can change that will allow me to use them without having the pops? thanks

The ksm27 doesn't come with a case, unless you count the padded box. It does come with a cloth bag and a shockmount tho. I like mine, although I don't have any experience with the AT4033.

Thanks for the response. The Mobilepre functions as both preamp and interface in my system, and is the only thing that's between my audio source(s) and computer. And I'm fairly certain it's not the audio source(s) I have. What would you recommend as a step up from the Mobilepre?
