Is "Guitar Hero" Bad for Guitarists?

Me too JP. My eldest and her friends thought they could really paste me at this game but they forget, I'm a product of the 80's...I was a gamer as a teen, if it's on a game system, I will eventually get good at it. One advantage a guitar player does have over the typical gamer with this game...

I was once the proud owner of a Kramer KnightSwan and let me tell ya something......That guitar had a low end that made Satan screetch like a lil bitch!!!! One of my biggest "bonehead" decisions was selling it! I also owned a Striker 3000 which was probably THE worst guitar I've ever owned...

Is "Guitar Hero" Bad for Guitarists?

Just got GHIII for my girls this Christmas. I felt as some of you do...What a joke....Till at the store I noticed it came with the "Kramer" style guitar! How sweet is that! Ok, not sweet but it intrigued me a tad. So then I watched my oldest daughter play the thing (she plays a ton at her...

    neighbor gave me Cubasis

So my neighbor comes over this morning and gives me Cubasis VST 4.0. He knows I'm getting into recording from my computer. I know this is an older program but is it worth using?? The stuff I record is pretty straight forward, I don't use midi, and I only record instrumental guitar stuff...

    Prince's Guitars.....

I loved how he had the strat set up...Floyd type bridge, hum + single for p/u's. Haven't seen that since my old guitar teacher did it back in 1989 to his brand new black, lefty strat.

    What's the best "Cakewalk??"

So for a few months now, I've been gearing up to switch from recording off of a portable studio (Boss BR1180CD), to computer based software. Now, I've looked in to GT3, Sonar 4, Sonar 4XL, ect...All these different editions......Not sure of all the differences. I know GT3 is your basic 32...

    Guitar for Small Hands?

If you can find one...(not sure if you will, I haven't yet). I used to have a Guild S-250. Very good sounding guitar dual Humbuckers, and a neck like an SG. Very thin and smaller frets. I believe the neck is 24 frets and the guitar is a neck thru. Sure wish I hadn't given that baby away.

    second computer to be converted

Ok, I have a 00 gateway PC with Windows ME. I'd like to change it into my means for recording instead of using my BR1180. I'd also like to use something simple like Cakewalk GT3. Has anyone run into problems running this newer recording software on an old operating system??

Ibanez RG 321 guitar -- any comments ?

I just sold, not too long ago, my First Ibanez I ever bought. It was an RG320. Close to what your lookin at, just different p/u config and a Floyd copy instead of fixed bridge. I really, really loved that guitar!!! The p/u's aren't too bad, definitely not top end stuff but they're good. I...
