This sounds really fun! I'd love to join in on the fun, if i can! (Vocals) But, unfortunately nobody has heard me sing yet, to hear my voice. So just saying i'm a good singer is only worth it's weight in binary. =P
I do have an AT4040 in the mail, on its way to me though, and within a few...
Will there be difference in sound if you are coming out of a DMP3 1/4 out jack, running it into a 1/4 - RCA adapter and run the RCA into a sound card, as opposed to just running the 1/4 line straight into the sound card?
Yeah, thats what i was thinking after i just listened to them. lol. Still sound nice though.
It'd be better if they had a better range of comparisons on their mic, like guys w/ deeper voices. Maybe even recorded with some different mics on their signal chain.
The fan running intermittently is actually a feature, smart fan. It's dynamic cooling, so that wouldnt have been a problem.
LOL @ the comment about comp usa.
Your system is probably rebooting due to device failure, or a driver issue. Windows XP by default is set to automatically reboot...
Yeah, but their combined space is only 320GB. Why get two when you can get one, that is bigger? ;) Less internal heat being generated, less wires, more space. Unless you planned on using one to backup the other, or are running a RAID 0 or 1, in which case, is a great idea.
Good find on your...
I'm guessing that some microphones treat singers differently than others.
Is there any rhyme or reason to it?
I'm just curious, wondering if the 4040 is the right choice (if it will work well with my voice). (i have about 200-300 budget for a mic)
For example...
A male singer with a deep...
Only thing that stuck out to me was the background string synth, the one that is quarter notes alternating between high and low in a 4 measure loop. When it switches to the higher notes (3rd measure) the tone seems to conflict with some of the other instruments in the mix; at some parts the...
I got a chance to listen to some of your songs this morning before work. I really dig your music man, those are some good tunes! In my non-professional opinion, i thought it sounded pretty well balanced. The vocals were the best part IMO. Great job w/ the music.
I'm no engineer by far, but i would gather that the problem wouldnt be with the mic, but with the equipment down the signal chain; either the BR600 recorder, or the Alesis Multimix6 mixing board. Only having the problem w/ the phantom power makes me think that the 48v phantom power is creating...
If you want something simple, check out some firewire / usb devices that are basically external sound cards. Your integrated sound card, as you can hear, isnt going to get the job done.
Alright, yeah i thought that sound card was a bit pricey too. Maybe i'll either look at something PCI-e or firewire.
Another question though.....
Am i going to need a compressor? Do some of those firewire boxes have a compressor, or software compressors perhaps?
