Pointer # 1: hunker down and do some reading here before you order a pile of foam. Pointer # 2: DIY is the best way to get the most for your money, and loads of people have posted here what they've done to their rooms with their own two hands.

Perhaps you've inadvertently created a mono group channel. try creating a new group and make sure you select a stereo group. I think when you are assigning track outputs it will show you the stereo output for the groups and the separate L=R in subtext underneath as well... At least in Cubase...

FYI- if you don't get a legit warranty registration card with it ( and I don't mean one of the extra foreign country registration cards that come with it) or get the current one transfered- there is no upgrade path. Period. And with the rapid pace of technology- no upgrade path is not an option...

To clarify that a bit more: To use with a laptop, you have to have the PCMCIA card with the multiface. If you want to use it with a tower, you need the PCI card to go with the multiface instead. RME is rock solid. Great interface and matrix mixer too.
