My first (Truly Kinda) Mixed Song - Please criticize!

I think my USB Mic came with a lot of hiss in the background after I dropped it a couple times. I set it to fade in so that the his eases in, instead of popping up. I couldn't get rid of it in EQ without taking out important frequencies. I just bought an interface and condenser mic, so hopefully...

My first (Truly Kinda) Mixed Song - Please criticize!

And another thing!!! How is the EQ? I know for a fact I over did EQ. I didn't use subtle boosts. I boosted until I could hear a difference and that was like atleast 3-4dB. And I did cut out a lot of low end, but I didn't have a bass or anything.

My first (Truly Kinda) Mixed Song - Please criticize!

I noticed that, but I couldn't use my pitch correction software without making it sound like T-Pain. I didn't know how to make the subtle changes. I tried to fix that during the recording, but I had to monitor straight from my laptop (USB Mics....) and latency forced me to do it by ear. But...

My first (Truly Kinda) Mixed Song - Please criticize!

I had two shaker tracks, each hard left and right. I felt like I had to turn it down because it was too in-your-face on both sides because it was so wide. But then again, I'm mixing on these desktop speakers Gigaware 2.1 Multimedia Speakers : Speakers | RadioShack.com so I'm hearing things...

Ever heard of the Sterling Audio SP50/30 package? Does it even exist?

I will be recording Acc Guitar, Vocals, various percussion (bells, shakers, tambourines, cajon, drums), piano, violin, bass, some electric. Those are just some off the top of my head. My friend is telling me that these packaged mic deals are just attractive bundles that they use to get rid of...

Ever heard of the Sterling Audio SP50/30 package? Does it even exist?

I was at Guitar Center the other day and the clerk showed me the Sterling Audio SP50/30 package. It's a large diaphragm condenser and a small diaphragm condenser at about $80 for the holidays. I went home and googled this to find more information on it. All I could find was this product listed...

    Help picking out FIRST interface!

I know there was a post about this a day ago, but I decided to post my question with more detail. I'm looking for my FIRST audio interface. Right now, since I'm just starting out, my budget is at around $120 to $200, but I want to stay away from $200 because I want to buy a pair of mics too...

    What's your post-tracking process?

I'm reading some books on home recording, but one's a little outdated (still talking about SIAB's and tape recorders). I just wanted to get more insight on what you guys are actually doing in the present. Thanks for all the information so far!

What are your pre-tracking and tracking processes?

I'm just starting out in home recording, and I'd like to learn more from people with more experience. What steps do you take in preparing your band to record a song? What steps do you take in the actual tracking process? Which instruments go first and why do they before others? If possible...

Best way to record vocals and acoustic guitar at the same time with one mic?

I've read a thread on recording acoustic guitars. I want to record a live acoustic performance with the one mic I have available. Where is a good place to put the mic so that I get a good sound of the acoustic guitar and the singer?

Virtual MIDI controller, less latency preferred.

I have Adobe Audition 3, and on old Cakewalk Sonar 4 LE that came with my microphone. Still not sure which one I like better.

Virtual MIDI controller, less latency preferred.

I don't have an actual USB MIDI keyboard, but I want to use some virtual instruments such as drums. I tried one virtual midi controller, but there's a lot of latency and I can't play all the keys on the controller with my keyboard. Does anyone know a good virtual midi controller? Preferences...
