    It's May now, but for those interested, the Apple refurbed iMacs are a great deal and come with a one year warranty. Usually if it last a year it will keep on keepin' on. I bought mine as a refurb back in 2011 and no problems at all.

    Some of the "heaviest" guitar riffage ever recorded was through a Fender Princeton. Point being, you *can* get a great big sound from something besides a Plexi or Dumble. Perhaps some good plug-ins would also help. Good luck!

    Record while playing using two tracks. Then mute the guitar track and try recording it with your vocal track. Compare the two guitar tracks. Good luck!
