    Tremolo Box, recommend me one!

I'm pretty fond of the Demeter Tremulator. Not so cheap, but great sounding. http://www.demeteramps.com/products/accessories/trm1.html

    Good Guys List

You got a mention from me about those Okatava's back on page 1 of this thread. I did like them quite a bit, but ran into a bit of a cash crunch this month. I already had a matched set of 603's and a pair of AT4041's that are my favorites right now. The Oktava's were the ones I thought I could...

    Best mic under $200

So, Chess, maybe you'd like to offer up a different suggestion? Perhaps something in the price range that isn't "a Large diaphragm condenser, Chinese-made, mildly sibilant with scooped mids and hyped highs"? I'll just wait over here. For my money, for Vocals, I'd get a Studio Projects C1. YMMV.

Yes. Like a bowling ball. :D

Is it wrong to like The Edge?

The thing I like the most is that his playing serves the song. There's no unneccesary showmanship for the sake of showing off. I like apeter Buck for the same reason.

    I need a new acoustic

I'm sure these are fine instruments, but you can't equate these with Taylor or Larrivee. It doesn't compute. You might also shop around for a used Santa Cruz. I bought a used OM-PW for right about what you have budgeted. It's a stunning instrument, and records beautifully. Another good...

    Upright Bass

I'd second the recommendation for an Engelhart. The bass player in my old bluegrass band played one, and it was just fine for starting out. I believe he swapped out the bridge and strings on his, and added a fishman pickup.

    Tuners...Gotoh, Grover, Schaller?

I've used a bunch. My J45 has Waverly's, my Gretsch and Fender Jag both have Sperzels, I have locking Grover's on my Tele, and regular grovers on my Guild Jumbo. I think of all of them, I'd go with the Sperzels for future electrics, and Grover Sta-Tites for Acoustics. I'm not sure the...

    set up/ intonation

Maybe now you'll just listen to what the man has to say, and while you're at it quit pimping Carvin. It's bordering on spam.
