No clipping. The sonic space when the keys join (1:00) in seems to be very crowded or making some harmonic? I listened on good headphones and there is something there but I dont think it is clipping- not sure.
Dont use the XLR jacks use the 1/4 inch. (You have combo jacks so just use the center 1/4 hole) Output from the mic preamp should be at +4db (pro line level) These are the 1/4 inch jacks. Your TASCAM has +4db line ins so plug it in any of those if the preamp matches +4. (Hopefully your mic...
Those are crimp type connectors for bare wire. You can get them at an electronic (hobby type) supply store and maybe at Radio Shack. Also in the automotive/trailer section at Walmart they have them sometimes for auto/trailer wiring etc. Don't forget to run a neg and positive for each channel...
I have about 4 songs here. Pick any one and critique my recording. I have been learning to use a small Yamaha mixer into a Scarlett 2i2 with Reaper. I did some singing and an acoustic guitar for a few covers... did a little overdub on Blowin in the Wind (I know I know... what can I say 70's...
Hello,
Acoustic Guitar (mediocre) player interested in home recording here. I have a Yamaha mixer, a Scarlett interface, a small Roland Cube and Reaper. I am trying not to blow them all up!!! Not doing too bad been studying all this for about 5 weeks. I have an older electronics degree...
I didn't care as much for the Ableton Lite the Scarlett came with so I have Reaper I like better.
Also, I suspect the Scarlett has headroom on the minimal side for instruments (I have been looking for the impedance cant find it anywhere) My acoustic active pickup works ok on inst setting but...
I also have a (2 year) electronics degree and it has nothing to do with audio. Audio is a totally different language although it shares some things like an understanding of impedance and voltage... Takes ALOT of studying to really start to understand the how mixers and instruments and DAWs...
Agreed I need to check my background processes. Barely hiccups just noticed a few. WIN 7, Reaper, two mics, keyboard, acoustic guitar. Mixer into a Scarlett 2i2...
I use one for gaming- I was thinking it would be good for recording too (like a dedicated SSD)... I notice my DAW hiccups sometimes when the computer decides to go off and do something on its own...
I run my mixers REC OUT (-10db RCA) to my scarlett 2i2- cleaner signal and frees up the stereo out. Its not balanced but its only 2 foot run. Run the scarlett output back into your mixer RETURN- they should be matched at +4db... the RETURN should have its own level pot too...
