Maybe try playing the PC track from a MP3 player into the 2track in jacks. The Headphones send button works on that input also. Maybe that will seperate it from the USB record stream. I don't know if this will work for your recording purposes though.

Not a fan of the 80s sound myself but I agree with what the others say here- Instrumentals are good... vocals are not connecting... Try bringing the vocal up front think Elvis Costello.

You know I don't think I really paid attention to the octave lower singing. (I am a beginner) I will ponder this. I guess if I just have the chords (think guitartabs.com) I will be prone to doing this and singing the song by memory- often changing the octave to suit me... I guess the answer...

I ran out of reasons to use my computers sound card... I just selected my scarlett 2i2 audio interface as my computers sound card and use it all the time. I do have a mixer but could run my headphones from the scarlett 2i2 if needed... I have to leave my mixer on all the time this way but I...

Here is what I ended up with, working nicely so far.

I had an ASIO4ALL driver that came bundled with cubase I think- very nice driver... it has its own control panel- try finding a different freeware ASIO driver with its own control panel (will let you select devices)

So basically I have learned that to play a computer/instrument mix through the Roland main speaker I hook up the return from the Scarlett to the mixer. To record instruments and computer I hook up the REC OUT to the Scarlett and disconnect the return.

Just tried some 1/4 to rca cables I had and the monitor out sounds better to the Bose- the level is better it is cleaner and louder. Thanks alot for the tip.

UPDATE: I did find some latency/loop problem this morning, very noticable in the mic, so I guess I cant do this after all... I didn't suspect I could, I just didn't hear it at first or didn't have it loud enough as you mentioned. I have to break that loop somewhere.

I sang "Rocky Mountain High" with my wife, her singing, me on electric guitar... she went to bed and now I am drinking a coffee and Baileys looking at this Jambox thing...

Audio Interfaces would show up under the ASIO driver section- then channel selectors...

Thanks- will try those suggestions :) Appreciate the feedback. I never thought of that- emulating a singer to see if you can do what they do... Sounds challenging. I tried it a few times with Willie Nelson, he has a unique voice. I guess people like Willie found out how to keep their voice...

Thanks, will work on pronunciating! I think I'll put a poster up and sing to it like I'm talking to someone! Ha ha. Maybe Scarlett Johnassen... I think I have a tonal mismatch on the guitar and the mixer board (impedance) - no headroom or something- I have a DI box coming in a few weeks...
