    Major vst instruments issue

I think you should change something. Seriously, find what it is and change it completely. Not just a little, but 100% change. Whatever you do... do NOT let it BE DIFFERENT! Individuality is the bane of conformists everywhere. Make the settings do what you need them to do... beat them into...

My first mix XLR setup help!

My own mic tests. USB vs Audio Interface. Samson Meteor USB vs. Audio Interface and Shure 58. The Shure/AI is much better but the Samson is acceptable for some applications as you mention.

Hooking up Monitors to Audio Interface TRS to RCA?

Yes- sounds right. I was using RCA to 1/4 inch cables for the same thing on a Yamaha mixer (REC OUT) to powered monitors. Just buy a pair of cables for L-R. You can order them online easily.

Reamping - can anyone help me finally understand it?

I think re-amping is so you can send the guitar player back home before he gets too drunk and ruins your recording session.

Are you sure your computer DAW isnt adjusting the signal with an effect or a volume envelope or something in the chain?

Reamping - can anyone help me finally understand it?

So for your use you should split your chain up into two steps. 1) Guitar- DI Box- Audio Interface- PC (for the dry signal) 2) PC-Audio Interface- Re-amp- Amp (To get the dry signal to the amp you want to model) The problem with this is you need another system to mic the cab -(or something...

Reamping - can anyone help me finally understand it?

The reamp box basically is the reverse of a DI box. The DI box takes a 10k ohm signal and changes it to 600 ohm. The Reamp does the reverse. Microphone level is 600 ohm- guitar is 10k ohm. (Impedance) As ecc said- so you can record a dry signal (and listen to yourself through an amp at the...

How can I make funky bassline groove?

I can recommend a book called "the guitarist guide to scales over chords..." Hal Leonard company. It goes through the scales and which applies. In your case either the major Mixolydian scale (mode) or Minor Pentatonic (blues) would probably be appropriate for a one chord funk vamp. (from the...

Just did my first acoustic 2 mic stereo attempt

I read that small condenser mics do well for acoustic recording. Just found an AT 2021 at a pawn shop and gave the guy $40 for it. Sounds good so far am going to re-do some tests.

    Monitor amp issue

As an ex-electronic tech the usual steps to troubleshoot electronics. 1) Run it as little as possible while troubleshooting. First open the case being very careful not to kill yourself since its an amp- they can shock even if they are off.. you are inexperienced so at second thought.. 2)...

Looking to buy an Acoustic/ Vocal Portable Combo Amp.

Thanks... I am doing my home work ... I stopped by a pawn shop and tried a Genz Benz and was surprised how good it sounded (they wanted alot for it) but it pretty much sold me on going with a dedicated acoustic amp.

Looking to buy an Acoustic/ Vocal Portable Combo Amp.

I need a replacement for my little bedroom sized Roland 30W cube (5" speaker/pa with a little built in mixer). I play acoustic and sing vocals at the same time. I want to play small rooms and practice with a little more volume ability... the Roland breaks up pretty quickly. I am intermediate...
