That's funny because I had this exact problem happen to me on Audacity on one of the songs I recorded. I rerecorded it and it worked fine, though.

Make sure you get an iHome, or find someone who will let you borrow one, and test it on that.

Hey everyone, just got a simple question: Will using the headphone out jack on an amp give you the sound of the amp when recording, or do I have to mic it?

I'm not sure what the retail price on this is, but a mighty fine USB mic comes with Rock Band for the 360. If you already have rock band, it's free :P. I've gotten pretty damn fine quality out of it, actually. You have to be directly in front of it to have it pick up, so it doesn't pick up a ton...
