    Stop calling yourself a "PRODUCER".

Would only rap producers be allowed to use the term 'produca'?

    Stop calling yourself a "PRODUCER".

Okay, just to clear things up, you were being somewhat joking with the original post, right? This has pretty much turned into a rap hate fest, lol. If you look at it, professional hip-hop producers are involved in every step. Yes, there are people just playing around with the fruity loops demo...

    Stop calling yourself a "PRODUCER".

The word 'producer' is misappropriated in every sense... The producer doesn't actually produce the music, the artist does. They should be called "creative director" or "studio god." :P And for the record, I'm not saying that you are dissing me; I'm not calling myself a producer. I'm pretty sure...

    Internet and Music

Pretty sure you aren't a major... You're an indie label. Things are pretty much easier for you now. :P

    Stop calling yourself a "PRODUCER".

Shhh! If people find that out, the people who graduated from the 'med-school' I run will want their money back! Or even worse, write 'scam' on my telephone pole flyer!

    Stop calling yourself a "PRODUCER".

I'm 99% sure that Easy E did those NWA beats... Also, dre has produced about a dozen em songs, a ton of snoop songs, and 2 entire albums of his own, as well as various other artists and a few 50 cent songs. About half of them are samples. Also, are you saying that industrial music is not music...

Before you talk shit about Dre I'd recommend you look at how much of his work is composition as opposed to sampled.

    Now you did. :P

    Stop calling yourself a "PRODUCER".

The thing is, producer has a double meaning today. In rap music, 'producer' is a fancy name for 'beat maker.' It's pretty much how being a software engineer and a mechanical engineer are completely different. A rap producer makes rap beats. A producer in any other genre does what you are...

    steps to mastering

(Sorry if this has been brought up before, I didn't have time to read all of the long posts.) Shouldn't a home recording site actually kinda discourage sending your mixes to a professional mastering engineer? Isn't that kind of... against the purpose? That comes from my perspective though, and...

Strangeness when making cds of my music

That's funny because I had this exact problem happen to me on Audacity on one of the songs I recorded. I rerecorded it and it worked fine, though.

What Do Kids Listen With These Days?

Make sure you get an iHome, or find someone who will let you borrow one, and test it on that.

Why must my mono songs become converted to "stereo" on cd

And alternative genre assessment: Diamond: Something amazing. Soul: Something that might not even exist. So, Diamond Soul might be better if it didn't exist.

The New And Improved Mic Forum Rep Thread

Hey! When recording vocals, should I be using a condenser or a dynamic?

    Headphone out on amp

The kind of noise I'm talking about is a dog, a lot of siblings, and the fact that the only place I can do my recording is the game room. :P Thanks for the help, I think that's the kind of mic I just got. (Before when I was micing amps I was using a gaming headset... It was pretty ridiculous...

    Headphone out on amp

Alright, thanks. It's not loudness I'm concerned with, it's picking up background noise. (Got a pretty noisy place here)

    Headphone out on amp

Hey everyone, just got a simple question: Will using the headphone out jack on an amp give you the sound of the amp when recording, or do I have to mic it?

    Fifty dollar mics

I'm not sure what the retail price on this is, but a mighty fine USB mic comes with Rock Band for the 360. If you already have rock band, it's free :P. I've gotten pretty damn fine quality out of it, actually. You have to be directly in front of it to have it pick up, so it doesn't pick up a ton...
