    Studio Montors

Yes I meant with the sub. What would be the difference between that ensemble (KRK RP6) and the DYNAUDIO or ADAM that coolcat was mentioning?

Mixing myself or... + virtual instruments

By the way, it's a demo... I hear you about the acoustic guitar popping in some places. I think it's more of a clash between the piano and the guitar (in terms of notes). Thanks for your feedback, here is the deal though, no songs will have the same instrumentation nor style. I guess...

Mixing myself or... + virtual instruments

    1) I think I do, but I know the importance of mixing and I know that I am not doing everything I should be doing. Compression, eq, reverb, volume, panning etc... 2) I am unsure yet, but I have seen some prices from studios... 200$ a song or 600$ per days. I can't afford 2000$ solely on mixing...

I really don't know anything about monitors... I get that the brands are DYNAUDIO and ADAM but... what is 6, 8 or 5?

Mixing myself or... + virtual instruments

I was recently hired to compose and produce music for a children's musical. Although it's a children's musical, the music will be as serious as any pop/rock artist ----) Lady Gaga, Beatles, Bob Marley etc.... So no 'I love you, you love me, we're a happy family' type of songs. I am getting...

How Do YOU Get A Sweet Vocal Sound?

Thanks, now I understand much better. That's my main problem lately is that I worked in really nice studios and I am trying to get something close to what I am use for. Now I know that it will never be the same but enough to be commercialized.

    The NEUMANN TLM102

Yes I agree with you, but as I have previously posted... on ebay you can get a used one for about 650$ to 700$ Which is why I recommended a TLM 103 instead of a TLM 102

    The NEUMANN TLM102

Before buying (and even knowing about the TLM 103) I went and tried all the Blue mics + Rode... and at some point we tried a TLM 103 and to me, it simply sounded much more natural. No coloration to the sound. You should reallt try them at your local store. I own a Rode NT1-A and compared it...

How Do YOU Get A Sweet Vocal Sound?

I mentioned this previously, but I have worked in many studios and never did I saw or heard the singer double his/her voice. Could it be that the engineer didn't say anything and used another take of it? I also called one of the singer I currently work with and she said that they never asked...

Mixing Beat Lady Gaga Type Tune

I am in the process of mixing a Lady Gaga type tune with a whole lot of midi instruments. It sounds very crowded... The only 'real' instruments are the voice, back-vocals, and electric guitar. Any tips out there?
