ZZ TOP....One Foot In The Blues album

I think their playing was a good part of that sound. I saw them play live several times in the 80's and they sounded great. Billy Gibbons has a nice guitar tone.

Looking to go tube:Delta blues vs. Classic 30

The Peavey Classics are nice amps. I have a friend who says the Delta Blues is one of the best amps he's ever had. He's had some pretty cool amps, so it must be worth checking out.

    Got a new tube amp!

I use to play gigs with a guy who had a Mesa Boogie similar to what you've described. I don't know what model it was, but it was a great sounding amp. Congratulations! :)

best cassette tape for tascam 424??

Coconuts Music still stocks Maxell high bias tapes. If you have an FYE near you, they may have the tapes also. They are owned by the same company.

best cassette tape for tascam 424??

I usually get the Maxell XLII 60 minute tapes. I've also used Sony CD-IT 60. They're both high bias.

    Elvis overrated?

My mother use to drag me up to Graceland when I was a kid. Elvis was one of a kind. Great voice and charisma, too bad he fell apart in the 70's. :(

I had a 60w Dean Markley tube head for a while back in the 80's. That was a nice sounding amp. Probably an ebay item?

    Vox AC-30

That sounds like a good combination. I've always wanted an AC30. The ones that I've heard or played through have sounded great. Congratulations! :)

    Blues Guitars?

I played an Ibanez semi-hollow body at a shop about a month ago. I can't remember the exact model, but it was only about $300. It had a nice tone and played well. Could be what you are looking for. Of course, Les Pauls and Strats are great for blues.

    52 Tele

The seller has taken care of the guitar 50 years. It will only take FedEx a couple of minutes to destroy it!

want to buy MY distortion pedal....

Big Muff is good for fuzz tones. I've used in the past to thicken up a Strat or Tele single coil. Haven't tried Ratt or Sansamp GT2.

Can this be right? (recent photo of famous guitarist)

SRV was at the time an alternative to all the shredding that was going on. I think he helped revive interest in blues. And his tone was unique at that time. He didn't invent that sound, but he sort of made it popular again. Sorry for getting off topic.
