Sure, I did the same thing using my 424MKII. Great sounding tapes. Use the direct feature, the switch if it has one, The MKII did, and just experiment with mic placement. For micing drums, guitars, and vocals You will get really nice results with shures sm 48's 57's and 58'. I suggest this...
