    humbucker suggestions

I don't play electric all that much, but I do have an assortment of them with all different pickups. I had a SD 59 put in a guitar of mine and the moment I plugged it in I was like "yup, I know that sound", in a very good way.

LR Baggs LR-T CV pickup in Breedlove 12 string. Any experience?

I've got an older Seagull 12 string with a LR Baggs and it's the best pickup I've ever had in an acoustic guitar. That being said, tone is subjective and recording direct is never going to beat mics. I would say if the guitar sounds and plays good, at that price the pickup should be a...

    Bowden B bender

That's pretty much the point. :) Here's the video that got me interested.... I've got a couple lap steels and this could add an extra dimension.

    Bowden B bender

I didn't get as far as the comments page, but I've been aware of various B-bender schemes over the years. I'm mostly interested in it as somewhat of a musical oddity. A heckuva lot cheaper than a Hipshot Bender and you can go back to a regular guitar. I've got a lot of guitars laying around and...

    Interesting (and kinda funny) story

I have around twenty stringed instruments, if I took them into the luthier every time they needed a fresh set of strings, I'd be living under a bridge. Of all my instruments. I've only taken five in to be worked on, the rest were fine right from the factory. I'm not much on modding or...

    Interesting (and kinda funny) story

I just did. Strings are cheap and the store gets them even cheaper, there's no reason to not change them.

    Quick danelectro question

Everybody should own one Danelectro, they're fun guitars. I have a six string Hodad and a DC twelve string. I also have a boner for a Longhorn bass. That orange Dano is fucking sweet.

    Ritchie Blackmore Birthday

We were raised on AM top forty as kids and I remember my bother bringing home Deer Purple Machine Head along with some Black Sabbath records and it blew my mind. They didn't play this stuff on the radio. The album was solid front to back and still holds up well today.

Ideas on escaping a creative rut and learning something new?

Show tunes are fabulous, what's wrong with being flamboyant?

Ideas on escaping a creative rut and learning something new?

I agree with this. I was in a classic rock rut for years and rather than trying to play new music I went backwards and started listening to big bands, Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and standards. It's all music, and as different as Sinatra and Hendrix are, they're still using the same notes as you...

    strings - gauge and brand

I'm thinking it was just strings, but I have bought strings from a specialty store for sets that MF didn't stock. Specifically lap steel sets for different keys.

    "Guitar Wing"...

I'm all for getting any kind of sounds you can out of a guitar, for me after a while nothing but guitars gets boring, but I don't like this particular product. Watching the video I'm not impressed, a foot controller can do this better. But to each his own, it may be perfect for some people.

    "Guitar Wing"...

:facepalm::rolleyes: I would have that thing broken to bits in a couple of days, it's right where I strum, not to mention accidentally hitting the buttons.

    Help needed with bpm ...

He did a pretty good job of explaining it, but I'll take a crack at it. The guitar part is a recording. The drums are either loops that are made to be stretched or sounds that are activated by digital patterns(MIDI). You either have to record it at your chosen speed, or stretch your audio...

    Roland GR55

I record the MIDI because it's very flexible. You can change the patch, key or tempo in addition to editing any notes in any manner you wish after you record. Plus I can use any of my softsynths. I know there's notation software out there and I know that SONAR has some form of it built into it...
