I have to argue with dragonworks. I have a USA made Balladeer and I love it. You just have to decide if you will play it unplugged or plugged in. The Ovation in my opinion sounds great plugged in. I have to shallow body and it is a very solid instrument. For live performances it is the way to go.
Hey Man!
I just starting listening to some of your stuff. Nice work. I also noticed that you are in Merrill, dude I'm in Athens, just 25 miles away! Give me so more info on your backround. Maybe we good meet for a beer sometime and talk music, women or whatever!

I think I know where you are coming from. Do what Brenton said and go directly to the tape deck. Make sure you have some good cables. I bought a seperate tape deck for mixing down to, just so i dont have to mess around with my stereo rig. Then I can mix down to the cassette and walk it over to...
May I suggest the Line 6 Flextone? Although a Boogie was a little out of my budget, the Flextone will give you the POD sounds and the ability to play live with it. I love mine. You have the ability to record direct just like the POD or you could mike the amp as well. I have been miking mine with...
I have an FD-8 and love it. THe ROland Vs- units are going cheap on e-bay, but I tried one out and found it very confusing. I prefer my knobs and sliders on the FD-8. Oh, yeah, get the Zip 250 with it.
I agree with the Jake E Lee stuff, Badlands is very tasty stuff. I'm also a big John Hiatt fan. Lately i'm having a love affair with the music of Ian Moore. Any one else here check him out?
I'm hooked on Elixir strings. They have a coating on them to make them last longer. They are twice as much as normal strings, but I think they are worth it. So much so that after trying them on my Ovation, I got some for my electric aswell
Hey Kids
You know Ive been playing guitar for a while now. Back in high school I started a band and we went strait to learning how to play cover tunes. Never really took the time to figure out what the hell i was doing. That was fifteen years ago. So after not playing for about eight years, I...
I bought a used Sabine 1600 rack mount tuner for $56 on e-bay. Not a bad unit. If you like Sabine tuners, it does the job. Ive been keeping my eye out for a used power conditioner, the nice thing about that is just have to find one outlet to plug your rig into.
Here, here! John is a great singer/song writer. Saw him on Austin City limits several years ago. So I went out and bought the Perfectly Good Guitar Cd. I have bought all most all of hims albums since. Little Head is another one of my favorites. That song "Pirate Radio" just gets me.
Ok, guys I'm a little old fashioned here but you can very easily record off of napster to cassette for about five bucks. Get a 1/8 inch stereo / to left and right RCA cable(Radio Shack). Plug the 1/8 inch end into the speaker out put of your sound car and the RCA end into the input of a tape...
Try the Roland GP-8, you can pick them up used for about $250 to $300 with the foot controller. Although not new by any means these units are really easy the use and completely user adjustable. I love the sounds i get from mine.
Well, Ive always played a "strat" style guitar. Upgrading through the years has gotten me many a guitar. I have to say I really liked my Hamer Chaparell back in the 80's. I just recently traded my mexican Fender strat for a custom ordered G&L Legacy, this guitar is a keeper. I no longer look at...
I've been spending way to much time learning songs again and not enough time being creative. After a few sessions with my singer we realized that years ago we used to tune down a half step. This really helped him out, as far as saving his voice.
Now here is the problem, I know how to tune down...
