    'Normalizing' individual tracks in cubase

compression? or compression? right. I think I get what you mean. it is not knowing how to use my compressor "properly" that has always made me shy away from it. maybe I just have a cruddy compressor. the physical or hardware one that I have is in with a bunch of other effects in my GSP21Pro...

    'Normalizing' individual tracks in cubase

thanks bouldersoundguy :) not the right word then....good! ok, in cubase sx3, I can't find anyplace that let's me do what I want to do. there are various EQ's and compressors in the VST section, and they're not all that cheezy looking. just not particularly idiot proof either. a volume...

    'Normalizing' individual tracks in cubase

I've read a lot of comments saying how bad it is. why is it so bad? well, in particular, for a demo, is it really all that bad? I have some tracks that get too loud in spots and need to be sort of...... evened out. is 'normalizing' even the right term to use? sorry for my newbie ignorance...

Rate amp modellers for home recording

amp models vs. amps I know. just tryin ta sneak my own 2 cents in there :laughings: been using both my own self. my coal burning Digitech GSP 21 Pro is really pretty cool for recording. nice reverb, delay, etc..really cheeezyoverdrive. for that I do the ol' stick the amp in the bathroom with...

Rate amp modellers for home recording

I too like real amps but which one? ah....the question of the day. I have a Randall RG 80 PH with a monitor cab that has a huge 12" Gauss in it. sounds really good. but it is really really loud. I also have a 68 Deluxe Reverb with a 12 in it I guess. but it needs to stay in it's room and...

    Vintage vocal sound....

some good ideas here I have an old Fisher X-100B tube amplifier. it's a stereo hi-fi amp. it was my dad's. it's really cool. I read somewhere (can't remember) that a lot of singers like the old fisher amps as vocal preamps. just a thought. I need to check into how to tweak it for microphones...

well, thanks for the replies everyone here's what happened... he sent me an mp3 of a project he is working on. it opened right up in my cubase sx3 without me batting an eyelash. it just opened as a stereo wav file in a new project like that's what it was supposed do. then, I added a bunch of...

    Audacity questions

Ahoy There, Nave! cool name. I like it :) you mentioned eggZACTly what I need to know about. that being: using audacity as an external editor as Reaper has limitations in this respect. ok, I didn't know that. but I certainly believe you. I have Cubase SX3, it's a legit copy I bought from a...

Ibanez tube screamer direct to sound card

thanks jay. I have been using a tele american standard, into the tube screamer, then thru the GSP21Pro.....for 'slight' reverb and EQ, then straight to sound card. before I added the old digitech processor to the soup, it all sounded pretty cheezy, yes :) not bad at all now. so I needs a better...
