Take 3 is out!

Metal Take 3. Did a highpass filter on the bass (don't know if that's a good idea but it helped) and some EQ. I think it's pretty well balanced but it's tough to tell with this room having no bass traps.
Ok, re-tracked the bass and did some minor adjustments to the mix.

It's called "Metal 1 Take 2".
The bass sounds "boxy" and I don't like it, BUT I think it's due to my untreated room! I'm using HS80's so the monitors are...
Bass is in there... but barely. I probably should bring that out a little but I can't get a good bass tone with my sansamp for some reason. Haven't messed with it much so that's the next puzzle to figure out.
Every mix I have made has come out way to quiet. I was afraid this was going to be...
Here's a quick instrumental I threw together. Beginning might be a little repetitive...
I think I'm getting pretty good at mixing (this is my second song that I've recorded using a mic rather than using distortion VST's)

Thanks for the feed back. If you're talking about the pick noise, then I know what you mean. I don't know if that's my Line 6 amp (wish I had a tube amp) with its poor digital distortion or my style of playing.

I know it's short. I feel the quality of the recording is pretty good. It's the first time I mic'd my amp (used to use VST plugins for distortion).
The only problem I have is trying to write songs that sound different!
Wow haha, I never even bothered to check! I've been looking around and have been looking at the best interfaces. I've got it down to about this:
Firestudio
Saffire Pro 40
Audiofire 12
MOTU (8pre, 828MK3 or 896MK3)
Tascam FW1082
So, what should I pick! I know it's about preference but from what...
Ok... I was just looking, and saw the apogee duet. From what I read, it is amazing. Of course this is not gonna help me much since it doesn't have nearly the same amount of inputs like the firestudio and that saffire pro 40. But I guess the sound quality isn't even comparable to those two. I...
Ok did a little more testing. I don't know if this will help at all but when unplugging the 1/4 cable that goes to the speaker the noise goes away. If I touch the cable plug, there is no high pitched noise. Now if I touch cable plug while touching the firebox, I get that high pitched noise. So I...
Ok... no responses. This noise is extremely high pitched. Like one of those sound bomb things from an ipod. It kills my ears so I haven't been using my monitor due to this noise. When using my cheap alesis monitors, I don't get this sound unless they are turned way up.
I wish I never got the firebox and just got the firestudio in the first place I never thought I'd have more than 4 inputs going in but I'm sick of changing out the cables.
Here's the dilemma:
I have the presonus firebox. It has 2 mic inputs, I've got 3 mic lines (and more to come) so I am...
That's exactly how I feel, trapped with no versatility with EZDrummer. The only problem is, a drum kit is a huge jump and with my little experience I don't know if it will help.
If I were to get a drum set it'd probably have to be electric. It's cheaper that way instead of buying 6 mics and...
Hey!
Right now I'm having a heck of a time doing a cover for a song. I want to do the drums (EZDrummer) and can't get a single thing to line up. The song is a SOAD demo track so I am pretty sure there was no metronome used.
I can either ditch the idea of programming drums to it identically and...
Oh I just figured it out! It was the chorus effect built into the amp. When I turned that knob, the speed of the clicking noise changed. When I turned the knob all the way off, it went away. I guess I can just use some VST's for a chorus effect. Thanks guys!
Honestly there needs to be a "signal interference" category or something like that. I think this is like the 8th topic I've had on humming, buzzes or some kind of noise that is in my recordings.
Anyway here's the deal:
I have a Kustom 30W acoustic amp for my 12 string. Whether I'm plugged in...

This was probably the best information I've gotten yet if you want to DI your guitars. Those free LePou plugins are amazing!!!!! Just listen some of the things those guys made.
When plugging in my third monitor, I get this extremely high pitched noise. I've brought it down to the third monitor which runs on a USB to VGA converter. Whenever I unplug the power to the monitor it goes away. I plugged the power cable into a different circuit outside the room and the hissing...
