What would you use for a DEEEP voice?

I'm a baritone and the best mic I've found is the Beyer M300.

    Yamaha P90 or Roland RD170

Hey, I just bought a P90 also. I really like it, I just wish the reverb effects could be turned off PERMANENTLY.

V-Amp Vs. X V-Amp. Sibling Rivalry: This is gonna get bloody.

I'm only seeing $30 difference in street price between the two.

    Ultra-low watt tube amplifiers

That Goldtone is pretty dang loud. The original 50s Gibson Skylark (6V6 version) is only about half the volume and sounds like a little stack.

    Audix i5

I have one and don't see much use for it at all. BOOMY bottom end, plasticy highs, scooped mids. Dang, I shouldn't have posted this before I stick it on ebay.

    DMP3 question

The MR-8 is almost unuseable without a pre of some kind. I use a DMP3 with mine and it makes a huge difference.

    low volume ..neil young.. anyone?

He uses a tweed deluxe and a big part of that sound is feedback and a bigsby tremelo. You can get pretty close at home with a tweed champ but it's still gonna be fairly loud

Two songs done with the BR-1600

Sounds good! Are the instrument tones and drums from the BR-1600?

    Slingerland cocktail set?

My wife used the Expresso starting out. It's pretty close to junk. Upgraded to a Tama Stagestar-great set for the money and it's very compact.

I need a low cost resonator

I got a Regal off ebay for $225 WITH a hardshell case brand new. I had to do some minor setup work but it's really nice for the money.

    How about the Audix I-5?

Maybe we have TOTALLY different definitions of "warm"?

PreSonus TUBEPre Microphone Preamp any good?

I'd get the DMP3. The TubePre doesn't sound "good" and it doesn't sound "bad, in a good way" like the ART can.

    How about the Audix I-5?

I just picked one of these up on ebay and did a casual comparison to a SM57 and Sennheiser 421 through a PA miking vocals and various instruments. The i5 has lots more bass than the other mics, and is brighter than the 57. It doesn't have the warm midrange of the 57 or the detailed clarity of...

    $99 Presonus.....

As far as comparing the Comp16 to anything, what I had before was a Meek MQ3. I didn't like the Meek preamp and the compressor took a lot of dialing in. The Comp16 never sounds bad and the presets make it fast and easy to use. My "good" pre is a DMP3 but I have a Tubepre for bass. After...

    $99 Presonus.....

    I really like the Comp16.

    my mr8 sounds like crap!

    Instead of a mixer I'd consider getting something like a M-Audio DMP3 and a Presonus Comp16.

    my mr8 sounds like crap!

The other thing is the sound you're putting into the MR-8. Are you using a preamp of some kind? Compression?

    Electrovoice mics ...

I picked up a 635a a while back and have yet to find a use for it. To my ear it sounds thin, boxy, cheap...I've read interviews with Don Dixon and Mitch Easter recommending this mike. What application do you guys use it for?

    Lexicon lxp-1 problem

The useable range is between about zero and .3, anything above that and it's distorted. I'm running the output of a dmp3 into it. I have an lxp-5 that works fine so I assume it was fried when I got it.

    Lexicon lxp-1 problem

It has an input level control.
