The Gotoh vintage style tuners fit exactly and preserve the look but but tune much more precisely. Please don't go hacking up your guitar. Grovers nowadays are nothing special anyway.

I had an i5 and it doesn't have much in common with the sm-57. Big, loose bass response, brittle highs, lot's of handling noise. Maybe that's why the price has dropped so much.

Most pros use baking soda and superglue. Rub a little baking soda into the slot and hit it with superglue. That combination does something chemically to really harden up.

If you mean the Presonus TubePre don't waste your money. It doesn't even sound warm enough to use as a bass DI. Love my DMP3.

Beyer M300

I don't think they are all that similar. The Beta is much brighter.

Spend the extra bucks for the Seagull Mosaic. The solid wood back really makes a difference.

I've got both and the M69 is more about warm mids but still pretty clear. The M88 is the one I'm lusting after.

Sperzels definitely break strings. Try not locking them down any tighter than necessary.

I have a Beyer M300. Sounds great!

I tested every mic I own with my acoustic and the M400 really suprised me. Warm,clear and focused.

Monitors are Yorkvilles though I'm thinking about the RP5s. Should I put foam on the wall behind them? Those IKEA mounts look pretty cool, Parts Express has a few options as well.

I'm really tight for space and wonder if there would be much difference in my current situation of having monitors on a small table right against a wall or getting them off the table onto wall brackets to free up some room???

The i5 sounds NOTHING like a SM57. I own one. It's got huge flabby bass, plasticky highs, kinda sucked in the upper mids. In other words....useless.

I compared the MRT-3 and the 123 side by side and the 123 has much better natural drum sounds if that's what you are going for.
