What's your kit like? Electric or acoustic what are you working with.

This will be my last post on this thread (stopping grinning greg) There has to be more real drummers out there who wanna show what they are working with. Respectfully declined as an O.P. -Z

p.s. Greg is 1000% right about the fans. It gets even worse if you're playing behind a cage in a large stage setting. And it stinks!!! it could just be my g.a.s though.

What's your kit like? Electric or acoustic what are you working with.

I'm gonna put myself out there as a newb but I just started stretching before any time I step on the kit. I am too young (26) to be experiencing pain in my joints and I equated it to (side note: I've been a chef for years on my feet for 11hrs/day on average) my drumming. An old school cat that I...

Moving Blankets as temporary bass traps

Apologize for bumping the thread. What a classic case of "no matter how bad you think you are, there is always someone badder" Great thread.

    Do looks matter?

It seems as though, now there is a grouping of people who are really working towards the status without the work involved. Case in point: the "road worn guitar." Shouldn't the title of that be "the wish you have been on the road guitar"? There are a lot of people who have side-stepped hours and...

    mixing live drums

How about sub mixing the drum overheads and work on isolating the kick and snare. I've run into the same problem trying to get more "feel" on a song and letting everyone play together. I've used the overheads as a sort of "room mic" that favored the drums but then isolated the crap out of the...

Love the splash on the kick!!! Kit is sick. I agree with the red being out of place. That is a kit with much history. What more can you ask for.

    Bass Tones

What makes a musician SO strong is having to grind things out. Again this is all up for debate but I'm just giving my piece. Had I not spent so much time with that original bass I never would have appreciated what I have now. I believe trial and error is the mother of invention.

    Bass Tones

Have you though about your bass tone overall? I'm not trying to sound sarcastic or anything like that but my first bass was a Dean double soap bar 4 string. I tried everything to make that bass sound good whether it was pedals, different amps, or even different strings. I finally came to the...

Just had my Night Train modded by Jule...

I just recently finished a strat remodel that took way longer than expected. The problem was an unacceptable hum that in nature was totally unnatural. Every time I would touch the strings it would break ground. Silly I know. However, I realized my mistake. I ordered a pre-wired pick guard to...

    Bass Tones

Anyone try the sansamp tech 21? I've run that into my hartke and DI into my interface and you can do whatever you want with that baby. There's a drive control on the pedal and if you have a bass where you can dial in a heavy high and mid tone, then you don't need a grit track. Never tried it...
