    What's better than a 57 for guitar?

+1 on the e609 what i love doing is double tracking, once with a 57, once with an e609, then panning to taste. sounds massive, big, powerful, etc.

a delta 1010 for SELL!! in LOS ANGELES!

it will cost a lot more than that . . i sold a 12 track mixer on ebay, and the winning bid was a guy in rome. this mixer isn't much bigger than a delta 101 with the breakoutbox, and the guy spent more on shipping than he did on the mixer. final bid was $160

    M-Audio delta 1010LT break-out box?

if you are just trying to extend the cables, wouldn't it be a lot easier just to make a breakout box, then connect it to the 1010lt via some rca cables? save a lot of hastle i would imagine, and not as perminant.

    Delta 1010lt DMA buffer size

i currently am running 2 delta 1010lt's, and i was wondering if was possible to combine both of the cards DMA bffer size? i ocassionally freeze cubase when i am running a full mix with all effects and everything. i have a 2.3 ghz, 512 ram, with a 1.2 ghz front side buss, so it runs rather...

    Monitors vs. headphones

i just love how blue bear always leaves me negative rep . . . especially when i was asking a genuine question. if i can't ask it here without being buttfucked by blue bear, when can i ask it? in my opinion, he never seems to give any truely good advice, he jsut repeats the same things over and...

    Monitors vs. headphones

i have been told countless times that monitors under $reallyexpensive are worthless to mix on. however, i have also been told that headphones are equally worthless to mix on. i know that headphones take the acoustics of a room out of the equation, but if you listen to enough music in the style...

anyone know where to get one of these?

i need a a/b selector switch that takes in 2 RCA type connections (stereo) and splits it off into 2 more branches with a switch to select wich output to use. i've tried google, but it always comes up with RCA brand a/b switches for RF connections, which are TV components, not the rca connection...

    Evolution of Studio Acoustics

i think it's not so much the science of te recording has changed how studios treat their roooms acoustically, but that people's tastes have changed. especially so for the rock and rool scene, people like the dry, in your face sound instead of the big, open, reverbish sound of older recordings.

    SM57 vs. e609

the best part about this thread . . is the fact that i wasn't trying to show big major recirding people how to do their shit. i was just trying to show someone in my similar situation what these mics can or can not do. the thing that tickles me pink is how blue bear gave me negative rep. for...

    SM57 vs. e609

if you read a little more closely, would would see that i wasn't giving an excuse. i stated that i know i am ameature. but blue bears solution was to get better mic pres. that's why i asked for advice other than buy more gear.

    SM57 vs. e609

hence why i said i value your opinion greatly. i suppose what i'm getting at is that it's not very helpful to say it sucks get better gear. it would be infinately more appriciated if you offered some alternatives or at least say why you think the guitar tone sounds horrible.

    SM57 vs. e609

later this week . . even possibly today . . i will re-record the tracks using the twi different mics, making sure not to change position of the mics or the amp settings at all. blue bear, you have to consider, not everyone owns a multi-hundred thousand dollar studio like you do. the site is...
