hey,
there's a direct input on my dmp3, i used it to get my bass direct into my soundcard, but wounder if there is a big difference between this and using some real di box.
My bass has active pickups, and the bassist from a band i will record the weekend uses passive pickup, i'ld like to know...
kinda funny,
i had the exact same compression setting on the snare, i guess i'm on the right way, my eq is similar to what metalhead tells to do, i will try higher velocity trick
dude,
it's been about an hour i'm looking for the song Mouth Licking What you've bled, can't find it in the forum, which, by the way, unless i'm a total retard, as no "search" funtion. Do you remember in which section it was?
hello again guys,
it's been like a month or two i got drumkit from hell 2, but can't seem to make the kick drum sound right.
what i want is something that sound about like the kick in the song cleansed by silence, available at:
http://www.purevolume.com/iondissonance/music
(sorry for the...
Well, buy some piezo buzzer from the radioshack, 273-060 or 273-073. tape it on the head, you now have a triggered kick for like 3-4$. if you can find a store that have those, you can have them real cheap. i found some at abra electronics store for 1$Can. www.abraelectronics.com
i even built...

i can tell you you want the real drum in the overhead, it will give the real feel, bleeding in overhead feels to me like a need. i tried with an edrum and it laked in realism compared to an triggered acoustic drum, unless you are a studio freak.
first suggestion: for drum: TRIGGERS!!
not those yamaha ones, but the piezo buzzers from radioshack
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=273-060
i'm from canada and those are the only accessible except the 273-059, which kinda break easily. diy edrum websites...
here is the problem. i have built a kit of 5 mesh head triggers and tought i would root them to my dm5 and use the midi out to record through my computer. The problem is that with midi i need much more editing (a pain in the a**) then when i go with my all time used drumagog 3.
and if i plug...
Well,
i use mesh head triggers on everything, so all i record is the cymbals, nothing else exept some stick noise.
I heard my track back after a little break, fells like it's only the ride cymbal doing so, maibe a bit to much gain on it. that sucks i'm not at studio now, feels like i placed a...
allright,
i think my problem is the really-not-so-dead room. there is a part in a song where there's only drum playing, at this part the cymbals goes like skwishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh skwishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and masks the drum behind.
is there a...
If you have enough line ins, you could buy some radioshack piezo buzzer (2730073 ou 2730069, or even 2720059, roughly 3$) on the drum heads and use these as triggers, but you'll need drumagog 4, which takes the trigger signal and change it for real drum sound. You could also use a trigger to...
The problem is i'm a university student. I live in an apartment, and have 25 neighboors, so i gotta record at my parents house. If it was just up to me, i would convert the downstair lliving room in a studio, building some acoustic pannels and bass traps. But i'm really not sure my parents would...
hey, i have that prog, but there is no preset eqs in it, and i'm still not an expert in getting the sound i want. Anyone has been able to get a decent kit with it and would be gentle enough to tell me what it is? I have eqium and waves platinium bundle, if that can help.
and anyone knows a...
