IDEA: Which site will bring you the most plays?

Exactly, we need to make sure ZILCH promotion was done. Thinking this over, another good thing to do would be for someone to post a shitty tune on several sites. And then see how many people listen to it. Because you probably wouldn't get multiple listens from the same person it might better...

Darth's band! Gotta hear me on drums!

Yes, the slightly lower tuned snare drum is great for slower rock tunes, you nailed it! The sutle use of delay is perfect to fatten out the snare, if you made the delay stereo and slight panned the send it would be even phatter! :) But you probably don't need to. LOL...

    We recorded 'Lithium'

My current project (band) I'm working with does this song as well. The tempo is very slow, it also sounds like you're playing it down a half step or so. The recording was clean and sounded ok, get some guitar in there, speed the tempo up and let us listen again.

$ Money For Some Guitar Fx Sounds!

Hi, I'm experimenting at home and I don't have access to a guitar player and I don't play guitar, anyway, I'd love for someone to record some heavy distorted "jet slides", "pick scrapes", "fret noise", etc for me. The end result could be a high quality mp3 file or a 44hz 16bit .wav file. Can't...

First post in the clinic for a while by Tukkis

"Yeh the vocals were abit off tune. That's the best the singer could do. I'll try doubling and adding more reverb." If you can't get the singer to sing another track, doubling won't do any good. You could try adding some "chorus" to the vocals to fatten them up, but ultimately try to bring the...

    Stayin' Alive

Re: The Vocals Guys, remember, this is a cover band not a Bee Gees tribute. For a cover band that has to do a "ton" of different styles I think this kind of singer is perfect. I'm sure in thie local club scene these guys/gals put on a great show. Slight mix issues like other's have said but...

band im working with (progessive/tech metal)

I listened to both demos. There isn't much of a "song" here, just sounds like you guys jamming to a few riffs. Again, kind of confused, not really sure how to evaluate these demos. Is there a term for this type of music? Probably the most "confusing" music I've heard in a long time. :)

    Cyan's Wildcard . . .

"I don't buy popular music." Could you define what that means? It's kind of cryptic isn't it? :) I could care less where my CD collection comes from, but I never eliminate any specific style/genere of music. I do agree that radio dictates what we define as popular music, but I would think they...

    Comp II tech question

This just means burn it as a PC compatible data format, do NOT burn it in CD Audio format. If I'm wrong, I have go read a manual or two. :)

Good guitar playing, the background music sound too "midi"ized. This would sound good with a full band live. Good jam!

How do you guys remember all your stuff when playing live?

I agree, nothing wrong with a music stand. I've seen Sting use it over and over, adds a touch of class if you ask me. 200 songs? Why not concentrate on a few set's material and work those over and over? I'm working on a 50 song set list. I've got around 20 memorized so far. Read the lyrics out...

    Writing & recording procedures...

Nothing posted yet, but hopefully that will change soon. :) Q) Do you compose on guitar or piano first or by noodling around on your pc? A) I just jam on the keys, a melody will start to evolve then I lay down a bass/rythm track and see if it holds my interest enough to continue. Q) Do you...

    Verlegen (=Shy)

Groovy tune, yah the weakest link is the percussion. This song seems to be jumping out for some tambourines or shakers in the background. Since the snare playing isn't that elaborate you could probably phatten it a tad by layering another snare over it. I think a 808 type snare (analog) would...

the strange birth of a song....

Shorten or lose the intro for sure. The overall structure of the song is very good. Has a good pop/rock feel to it, screams for vocals as you know. Keep developing this one, it should have some serious mass appeal. Excellent use of ears for song structure, catchable chords, good dynamics. My...

"32nd Fuse" - Does it capture that 'make you wanna smash shit' feeling?

Hmmm... good chunky guitar tone. (That's already been said!) I'm having a hard time feeling the groove. The drums could use a kick in the ass for sure. Wait, it appears you blended 2 songs together!?! Personally I'd lose the "sun comes out part" it just throws off the listener too much and it...

    Gothic/Doom Song...

Intro sounds cool, the snare could use some beefing up a bit if you ask me. Perhaps more compression, or try doubling with another snare and blend to taste. :) The overall vibe of the tuneage really slows down after the intro. Looks like it kicks in again around the 3:00 mark. Regardless of the...
