Mixes on my BX8's don't translate at all!

Some advice, which I have learned myself the hard way... if all of the elements of your mix sound balanced with one another, but the whole sounds muddy, go back to the mixer window and drop the level of each and every track by an identical small amount (about -.5dB) and re-export the stereo...

    Best Audio Interface?

Ya think? It's been almost two years since they went belly-up. And the hell of it is, I keep seeing this forlorn looking Aardvark unit sitting in the discounted bin at a local *big name* retail music store. I wonder if they're telling folks about this fact? Hmmmm...

    Bands, Drummers & Click Tracks

There's some threads going around right now at the SONAR forum and on the PSW forum, about drummers and click tracks... what's with all this "click track" thing anyway? I've gone years without the subject coming up and now click track threads are everywhere! Is it a sign of the coming apocalypse?

Panning and reverb in early Beatles

"Taste of Honey" was a very early EMI recording, when they were using two-track tape. In this time frame, the band typically recorded the backing instrumentals together as a band, "live" as it were, to one of the tracks. The other track was used for the vocals. Any overdubs involved a...

    Which vocal mic around 150?

... what's next, "Best Mic Around $175 but not over $180"? I know what it's like to live on a budget, but jeez... wait a month or two and save up. Get something decent for crying out loud. You know, that costs $190 or so.

    Fostex M88RP

$325 plus tax. It didn't have the original case, so they threw in a Samson case and I trimmed the foam for a good fit. They said the guy who traded it in used to work for Fostex back in the day and got this one when it came out (about 1975). The mic looked like it had never been used, like...

    Fostex M88RP

Just to follow up... I bought the mic. It sounds downright bitch'en on a guitar cab. I just finished recording a song with about four or five guitar parts, all recorded through the M88RP and it beats anything I've recorded before with dynamics or condensers all to hell, for electric guitars at...

Can I include OEM software when selling soundcard?

Is there a market for Aardvark products nowadays... I mean, they are out of business aren't they? I realize that your card might (or might not) work for someone right at this moment, but driver development is essentially frozen in time, there won't be any way to use with 64 bit OS, etc. and...

    Alternative to M-Audio?

Hmmmm...I use the E-MU 1616m, and I can't say that PatchMix has shown me any negatives. It just does what it's supposed to do. What were your problems, specifically? I think the E-MU cards are hard to beat, value/performance for the money.
