    dumb newbie question

DO NOT PLUG IN THE MIC IN!!! plug in the Line in instead. is your soundcard a no-latency kind? if not the sound from any plugin will happen around 1second after you played. http://207.218.248.76/~fretted/ try those, you will see, i never did myself but think it does the job

how to get to 180 bpm?

thanx for all replies, i'm playin on 1/4 notes (4 notes per beat) Today i was able to play at 125bpm, but only 2 times (scale up and down twice), after that my right arm starts to fuck up so i guess the hint about practicing speed and going back slower to practice accuracy is a really good...

    cheap condenser - please advise...

hey, have a look at the superlux h7a mic, it felt much easier than the 57 to find the sweetspot, it's cheap (only 75$Can, half a shure 57) and it's a condenser, would probably do a really good job at vocals, haven't tried it yet.

    Guitar Re-amping

i haven't tried myself, but you need a PASSIVE DI box working in reverse, so the impendence matches between your soundcard and your amp, or else you'll get a lot of noise. there are also some reamp units, but the are pricey, maibe you could see if a local dealer has some for rent

    Native Instruments VSTs

tried them here, sounded like crap. it was more like a crishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh than some real amp sound. kinda sounds like a cheap recording, it's not like an amp in front of you. The only one that made a descend tone is amplitube live, and it's only for metal. It sounds about...
