hey, have a look at the superlux h7a mic, it felt much easier than the 57 to find the sweetspot, it's cheap (only 75$Can, half a shure 57) and it's a condenser, would probably do a really good job at vocals, haven't tried it yet.

i haven't tried myself, but you need a PASSIVE DI box working in reverse, so the impendence matches between your soundcard and your amp, or else you'll get a lot of noise. there are also some reamp units, but the are pricey, maibe you could see if a local dealer has some for rent
