I'm curious how much of a difference switching from cool edit pro 2.0 to protools or other more expensive software would make as far as mixing goes? Are all the plugins much better? Like EQ and reverb and compression? I've noticed that I can only really get my self to a certain sound with cool...

I'm going to agree with your initial thought of the bass might be a little to much... I have an 8 inch sub on my system and the bass easily drowns out a lot of the song. I can still here everything fine and the mix sounds great, but i think the bottom end should be tightened up a little.

The bass seems really boomy to me, its all sub and nothing else. It also sounds to me like there is a little bit of clipping, but what do i know.

I'm going to vote for Growlier because they seem to have more presence or something. It has some more shine then the smooth ones.

It is all close mic'd Mics on each tom, and 2 overheads then a mic on the snare (which is gated) and a mic on the kick... The tom mics and overheads are all on 2 tracks because i only have 4 inputs available to me on my sound card. the main problem that i know i have is the drum set is inside...

No one knows anything about these mics?

I was looking into tom mics and noticed that samson has a pack for 3 tom mics for 130 or so and was wondering if the mic's are no good. I've never really had any good experiences with cheaper equipment, so i'm turning to all of you! Let me know! Thanks Charlie

The mix should sound how you want to hear it... The best you can do, then mastering will make it better.
