i haven't tried anything else but my sm-57 hanging down aimed at the edge. too many mic placements, too little time...

omnis are great for close up mic'ing, sdc or ldc also i pad down the ldc sometimes, and usually use hp filtr

ended up i just took the ride track and wiped the lows and mids, mixed drum tracks down to stereo and left others unchanged then exported to reaper, looped track spdiff back to Korg, dubbed fun, mixed, made cd now it's going into the car for the ride to grandma's house

i had that problem for a while. sometimes it happens again when i'm not warmed up and my leg and foot is too tense and not releasing after the kick, and sometimes when i'm too far up on the pedal. some harder beaters also make it worse, but i also saw an experienced drummer once have that...

i wish i could just walk in there. should be a preserved forever as a working landmark. All you need is ears is great book. great writing style and what a class guy GM is.
