    Amp Isolation Box

I want to build an isolation box in my garage to record my cranked Fender Twin Amp in. It needs to be very dense I imagine in order to keep sound as quiet as possible outside of it, but I don't want something so heavy I can't move it. Any ideas? Also what does anyone think of using cinderblock...

    Exporting submixes

I want to export only certain tracks from my project so that I can have them as a wav file mixed together, i.e. all drum tracks mixed down to a wav file. This is to reduce the processing power on my computer. However, whenever I do this Cakewalk is exporting ALL the tracks. I have tried using...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

Yep. That's exactly my point to the Christians reading this board realize two things: 1. Many people will view your lyrics and feel it's wrong, that you are forcing your message on them. That's okay, if Eddie Vedder writes "Pro Choice" on himself in concert he's not trying to influence me with...

How do I get a powerful guitar sound?

What about compression? How much does quality compression have to do with it? I am using all digital compression in the computer. Do the pro guys use analog tube compressors and does that make the tone better too? What about tube mic pres? I'm using a typical mic pre (Audio Buddy). I keep...

How do I get a powerful guitar sound?

WOW! Maybe that's the solution. I have always been micing the center of the speaker. I'll play around with more positions. What about mixing a mic like a Rhode NT1 into the mix? I'm thinking of buying one. How would that work close mic'ing as well, or would I only want to distance mic with it?

How do I get a powerful guitar sound?

EQ Tha amp is set flat on EQ. I have the reverb on the amp set at 2 1/2 and the Presence is flat as well. I'm not doing any EQ in the computer. I haven't mic'd it off axis, pretty much just straight into the cone. When you mic off axis are you angling the mic or just moving to the side of the...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

Hmmm.... I had thought about that Mary. You may be right. My next step will be to copy each track into individual projects and then export them and see if I see a file size difference. Does anyone know if Cubase VST32's Tape Simulation is better than Cakewalk's Tape Simulation Plug In? They...

How do I get a powerful guitar sound?

I'm in a power trio blues band along the lines of Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. We are trying to do our own album mostly in my home studio. I am using Cakewalk, a MIDIMan 2044 (20 bit), and Audio Buddy for my Mic Pre's, and SM57 for a mic for recording my guitar tracks. The guitar distortion...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

That's what it's doing. That's exactly what's happening. Say for instance I do a test project with 3 Tracks. Track A is 1 minute in length, track B is 1 minute and 25 seconds, Track C is 2 Minutes. I am muting 2 at a time and then Mixing down the project for each track. I end up with 3 files...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

Mary.... You keep asking if I'm humble enough to respect your beliefs. Of course I am. I don't feel everyone has to agree with me. I've said that in earlier posts. My whole point in this conversation up until now was not to convert everyone on this message board to Christianity. I was making a...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

Special? So you mean out of all that I wrote you got out of that that I am "special", and looking down at everyone else because ofhow "enlightened" I am. There's really no point in going into any more detail than I have in the past in a response. I have said that I am not special, I no...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

Accept? Quote: You may have the biggest house on the block or the smallest trailer in the park (with a camaro or two up on blocks) but what sort of Christian are you, nay, what sort of person are you if you refuse to accept another human being? I can see that you are obvously having a...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

Reply to Dolemite I always feel like I'm the trailer trash in the room when someone ELSE is telling me they need more softcore porn on TV. You've got some really twisted thinking going on, but I guess I'm just narrow minded and exclusivist to all those millions of people looking for a Church...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

My response Quote: Why is it that all these "born-again" fools are former (and sometimes current) junkies/alkies/wife-beaters/Jerry Springer guests/redneck trailer park NASCAR fans/etc.? Whenever you hear somebody say they've been "saved" you can pretty safely bet that they have a shrine to...

simple question...does Christian music scare off listeners here?

Interesting isn't it? Interesting isn't it that when you are Christian and you are singing about something you believe in you are trying to influence someone else, but if you're not Christian then you are just expressing yourself. What a load of nonsense. But this illustrates the division...

    Mixing Tracks together into submixes

My CPU meter kept having the "dropout" alarm go off, and usually that's because there's too many Cakewalk Effects on too many tracks. So I wanted to mix tracks into submixes or export them into stereo wav files and create a new project with them and put effects on them as a whole: i.e. all...

Truetape 32 Bit Cubase VS Cakewalk

I would like to know if anyone knows the difference between Cubase VST32's 32 Bit TrueTape and Cakewalk's True Tape Audio FX which is supposed to be 32 Bit too. I have heard from some people that Cubase's works better. Any comments? Why doesn't Cakewalk make a big deal about there Tape...
