Lovely mix. Really clear. Some personal preference stuff on the actual song: I'd say the bass line could do with being a tad more interesting. If you want to keep the 4/4 thumping rhythm then maybe some walking notes on changes would help. Doesn't need to be anything mad as it would take away...

Very cool. It's quite short so I assume you're intending to lengthen it and maybe have a second verse/chorus? I'm liking it so far. Very theatrical

Hmm have a couple of ideas for that. One thing I'm going to try (may sound sh1t) is having sort of a bar audience sound before and during the initial riff and then some sort of w00ts and cheering during that breakdown.. Otherwise maybe just some guitar feedback or something... Will see. I think...

Ok guys. Took off compression from the mix send completely and just kept compression on individual tracks (and drum group). Changed Kick drum to be a lot bassier and lose the click. Completely retracked a lot of the guitar parts (I'm the bassist so it's of variable quality) and made the lead...

Ok here's my go at it. Gone for quite a modern sound and rocked it up a bit. Lovely clean tracks to work with. Really nice recording :cool: EDIT: changed the track as it didn't sound bright enough on low end speakers. Gone for this compromise :P

Sounds pro. You seemed to get really clear recordings to work with too. Seems very clean which is what you were going for I guess. Reminded me of brand new a bit :)

Ok that's interesting. Can see what you mean with the lead but I thought the vocals seemed to stand out enough (don't want them overpowering everything else). Would like to hear some others opinions on it but yeah I'll muck around with the lead.

I tell you what though mate. I'm going to upload a new track to mix this evening hopefully and mix it alongside you guys. It's got bit of a different feel to this one.

I've done a new mix. Few little bits to tweak but I'm done for tonight so thought I'd stick it up here. I recorded a second rhythm track and panned one hard left and one hard right. Also changed some of the lead that was messy. Having said that I actually think it may have been better...

There's a monitoring button in each track in ableton. Apparently it's a 'feature' of ableton that it records what you hear. You can get round it by duplicating the track and recording on one monitored and one not and keeping the one that's not monitored. Didn't know any of this when we recorded...
