The Jongleurs - Just Say The Word

Sounds very nice, very clean and crisp, as usual. The most obvious problem for me is that the kick becomes very weak in the chorus when things get a little busy. I would also turn the ride up a tiny bit in the chorus. I too, like rayc, feel like the bass lacks some definition. Other than that, I...

    "Work It Out"

I agree with Pinky, the kick needs to be much tighter. Everything else sounds very crisp and clean. I love the intro, or rather, lack of it!

    Floyd the Barber (Nirvana Cover)

You should try choosing a different snare if you don't like the sound of this one. If this is the snare you liked best, you could try to change the intensity of the hits. I haven't used Superior Drummer but I'm pretty sure it's possible. And as everyone has mentioned, overheads need to go up.

    Presonus Firestudio

I don't have the new MacBook, I have an old one, which I use with a Firestudio Mobile. It's a great interface, and I've never had any problems with it. But if I could do it all over again, I'd probably shell out the extra hundred for the bigger version. I thought I was going to do a lot of...

    cymbals AHHH!!!

Some Sabians sound pretty freaking amazing. The HH line is awesome, the AAX is very nice too. I can understand someone not agreeing to the AA line or anything below that, but AAX and HH are top quality. I have a Zildjian too, a Rock Crash. I never stick to one brand when it comes to cymbals...

I want to start recording drums at home!

I don't know, maybe that applies to the more experienced members who knows their songs sound good. Some of us (me) know there are mixing flaws in our songs, and just want to know how to make the song sound better. I'd honestly prefer constructive criticism on a song, as opposed to someone liking...

    Reaper to Pro Tools

A lot of people do this kinda stuff (sending wav files back and forth to record a sing ) Like Bobbsy said, e-mailing might not be a great idea. You should look into services such as Dropbox for mass transfers.

"Speak to Me" - trippy rock original

This sounds really good. Reminds me of Jane's Addiction. The song is fun, and the mix is good too. The vocals do get a little harsh here and there, but not throughout the song. The double tracking on them is also a little off at points, which sounds intentional to me ? Not sure. The bass is...

Monstars (2012) with Joey and Brad

I couldn't tell it was faster, but it sounds good. The snare, it sounds a little damp, it could use just a little more presence at the higher end. Did you play around with the EQ or is it the same snare ? The vocals sound killer.

How to make vocals blend into a mix

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. My point is, there isn't some secret only a few people know about mixing vocals. It's not like a beginner can learn about this secret and immediately acquire superb mixing skills. Too bad though, it would have been a lot easier that way.

How to make vocals blend into a mix

Lol, seriously ? I'm no expert but I somehow doubt there is a certain secret to mixing vocals, a secret you can only gain access to by buying Waves plug ins. I'm guessing a good room, good equipment, and training your ears through lots of practice is a better bet.

Feel Your Love - feedback please

The drums sound a little buried. The vocals sound great the way they are, but the other instruments sound a tiny bit muffled. I'd maybe bring them up a little bit too. Overall it's a nice, upbeat song. I like the arrangement.

Monstars (2012) with Joey and Brad

This is what I always say, you always change it up at the right times. I can hear the HF thing, but It's hardly noticeable and I doubt I would have picked it up if I hadn't read about it before listening. It sounds like dark reggae at some parts, but I'm still not sure why everyone thinks it's...

    Riddling Rhymes

Thanks for listening. Did you check the '2' one or the '6' one ? When I put it on again the next day I realized just how loud the snare was so I've turned it down a bit in the second one. The drums on this one were a real bitch. The singer/guitarist wanted me to record them piece by piece. I've...

    Riddling Rhymes

Thanks for listening TM. I changed it up a bit. The drums aren't programmed, they're real. The intro is a little long I guess, but the song is long too so I guess it works. You were right about the vocals, solo and bass, I fixed those ( I think ). Again, thanks for the input :D
