yea it was a while back about kick drum mixing and EQ/Compression chains.... and there was a couple of other times about phasing. And yea, you took a shot at mixing one of my songs once, you did a good job but it wasn't the drive we were after, which is no fault of yours, just preference.

depending on your editing capabilities its rather easy to punch in in places that make sense.

what will you be using this mic for? My favorite mic so far is the TLM 102, which i've had way better results with that than the TLM 103 and its a lot cheaper. However.. both (bolth) are outside your price range. so what will you be using this mic for? voice? acoustic guitar? Room mic for a...

just try it. you don't want to add reverb or delay on any of the individual tracks.... just the bus that they are all being sent to. On the individual tracks its find to EQ and Compress ... nothing to wet the sound BEFORE its sent to the bus... once they are all in the bus then adding things...

I agree with that... the kick took the day off i guess.... and it does sound way too roomy.

triple tracking consists of having your best take front and center and the loudest... then another set of takes panned opposite each other at low volume. mix them so you can barely hear that its triple tracked, then send all of them to a bus... add reverb and perhaps a slight amount of delay and...

its a mixing thing for sure, which EQ obviously falls into that... maybe triple tracking vocals to give you a wider sound... i think that would help.

both tracks of rhythm guitar sound out of tune to me... and by presence i mean try EQing around 6k to boost a little presence needs more energy

Hey guys, So this is not the final product and the breakdown after the 2nd chorus is going to have a classical guitar lead (pretty cool actually) over it that we haven't recorded yet... but let me know what you guys think of this and lemme know your thoughts...

Electric sets sound like electric sets.... can you imagine nirvana, acdc, kings of leon, etc with electric drums??? horrible. I'd get over that idea of yours and just learn how to place and eq... To be honest i like the "unmixed" version better as a starting point. you need to be smart with EQ...

Im in love with my neumann tlm 102... its just above your 600 price, just make sure your interface has phantom power and get a pop filter. The mic works great on everything... vocals/acoustic guitar/ drum overheads (very crisp)... thats all i've tried it on so far... i used it on the snare too...

Its really not bad, how was it mic'd? how many mics/what positions/ etc.
