Laid down audio tracks. Went to lay down midi. Have everything as I always do. No sound.
Echo button - on
Getting midi signal on tascam 1082 interface from key and drum controllers.
i/o set as usual.
Midi cables in.
Tried 2 sources, midi keys with Motu sampler
and roland v drum with bfd.
See...
i believe lower latency uses more CPU but tightens up the playing. I use low latency for midi (Drums, keys) and raise it for audio. Not sure why your buffer can't go lower. I set it at 11.5 for midi. But I have Sonar 5 PE. I would think you can go to audio in Sonar 4, not sound card and set...
Yes, I use Roland v drum. Much better than fingers on a pad. And fun. Can you explain the VST wrapper. Is that something I should add or is already there but I'm not using. Also the bounce feature you talk about. Not finding that in manual.
Great explanation littledog. A condensor mic simply needs phantom to turn it on. I thought the pre-amp would power both. If I have that correct. I'll stteer away from C1000 and check out others, any other suggestions for mics. As I reread Scrubs said that before, sometimes the ADD kicks in and I...
AS a newbie, I'm glad I was blindly steered to BFD. It just worked. And pretty good for a beginner. I would have never figured that out. It took me major concentration just to read this thread. Though the product sounds great. Hope they do make a DXi version for Sonar so i can try.
Thats a bit greekish to me, I have to read up more about Phantom power. Not much in manual except NOT to use with dynamic mics. Seems Phantom power just adds more power to pre-amp for condensor mics. Which is best for vocals?!Yes?!
Can you also explain the
1=ground
2=hot
3=cold
lingo
thanks :)...
ah, time to resuck on the tascam manuel. I don't remember it saying it has 4 preamps. Guess that guy at GC steered me right maybe. Go figure that for a big chain. Thanks
yea, I just want to start with vocals. I didnt know phantom power took the place of a pre. If I had extra $, and other suggestions for a better mic? The next level higher maybe. thanks for info.
Finally got system working good. I want to try vocals. By reading threads its seems a decent cheaper start would be sm-58. (better for vocal than sm-57)
Did I read right. Any other ideas. Also, any ideas for preamp to power the mic. Thanks
When I started this whole at home recording thing a few months ago. I knew nothing at all. So I did end up at GC with a pocket full of cash. Maybe I lucked out but the guy set me up pretty good. If there was any problems I could get him on phone and he did help. So when you have NO IDEA, maybe...
thanks guy.
dachay2tnr- it is clicked. Didnt seemed to help
EddieRay- I never tried that with a pop. When I got in deep in the wave it worked great for this edit without and big drop in volume which sometimes happens.
Dogman- Whats a pop and click remover. Software?
blueroommusic-I will...
If I have a guitar line about 3 minutes long, somewhat repetitive. I want to Punch in a spot. I found 2 spots before and after that has a very small window of space. Set the punch record. Recorded. On playback theres a click on the in and out. I also tried creting a clip of the section where it...
Couldnt find this in book. I have been recording audio for a while. Today I tried adding an audio track to existing project. This track has a Stop sign. (Circle with diagonal line in it) In clips view. It is in the actual clip to the left of "Record 1". And becuase of that the waves are there...
