Turre...I expect you are correct...For a first timer getting into audio work....I found Audacity pretty easy...and I've learned that I can bring in 8 tracks and do a cumbersome job of editing...but it's slow...not as precise as I think things should be...I started out doing digital conversions...

When I rebuild a PC I use Samsung 850 EVO...there are a few better choices out there for speed....but this SSD is a very good...

I record and burn masters...I use a variety of CD brands... Do not buy any "cheap" CD...stay with the brand names... Then burn them at a slower rate...most CD burners will burn at 36x...48x...etc... My CD burners and the software I use to burn allow a slower burn rate... I usually burn...

I do a LOT of digitizing...R2R...cassette...DAT and LP... I use Audacity...and plug whatever the source is directly into the line input of the computer audio card... Rips at 44.1 16 bit...I get VERY good results...and the setup is as simple as you could want...
