i have a sebatron valve preamp that is very versatle . perfect for vocals when i used with a good condensor. this one is my favorite for getting a smoothy sound . a single chnnel is great two channels even better becasue you can drive one channel into the second channel and control color and...
has this got a inside regulator. it needs to have voltage regulator for it to be less noise . if you run a digital delay you would get a hum if it is not a regulated power supply. or anything digtal will have noise to.
i would go for the m audio tampa but otherwise save your moneys for a little bit more you could get a sytek or a sebatron. it would make a much bigger difference to the end product.
I not like the sound of Foxtrot even though it is one of mine faviourite Genesis albums.Suppers Ready is very great track.Duke doesn't sound that good either when compared to tRick of the tail.
i would investigate the great river or the sebatron 2000e. both will give improvement and will sound different to any other pre that you try out.
the sebatron is very flexible for many voices and instruments
i have DBX160 and a sebatron2000e. even with a re-20 EV female vocals is very smmothe and beautifull . i only use around 10to1 on ratio but driven hard with the seb so gain makeup is not really needed by the dbx.this makes the vocal chain very quiet and a bit of color. good for bass too.
i thinks you should look at A-Designs or the sebatron vmp-4000
these are real valve preamps not hyped up with more features
If it is quality you are wanting these type of units will get you there
more features could make the sound deteriorate.
from what i've been reading the brick is a point to points circuit board with all components directly soldred tto each others.the voltage is pure hight voltage for the valves im sure. :)
i am looking for a vacuum valve amplifier for my mid sixties telecaster fender guitar.i have heard fender original amplifiers like the twin i love them.
is it worth chasing up an old one?would maintaining the amplifier be a situation?are their any respectable similar amplifiers?
thanks for your...
unless it really is a high end preamp liek a john hardy or sebatron or great river you won't be much different.
i returned a tlaudio for the same reason it sounded like my mackie preamps.
the high end preamps make a differense immediately.
if you have the budget and you want higher quality you should check out the sebatron pre-amps and great river pre-amps. they are a bit more expensive but worth every penny for the flexibility and quality.
