Haahaa!! Took some fuses with me, ripped out the power-amp tubes, and turned the thing on, no blown fuses! --> reinstalled one of the tubes, works...! YYAAHOOOO!!!!:D:D --> the second tube burned the fuses again--> just a busted tube!!:D:D:D I was kinda worried for the output transformer...

So, I bought a Sovtek mig-30, from Ebay.. ..from russia. Yeah, shoulda expected trouble. Well, hooked it up to a cab, set the voltage to 220V, put on power, turned all pots to zero, turned on the standby, and ZZATT!! ..there goes the "valve" fuse... Turned it into a little stronger, put on...

Well, I like using tube preamps for distortion/OD. And got a bass amp with a tube pre, as well as a SS... The tube pre definetly sounds different than the SS, better, not sure about that.. a bit more clonky mids and a hint of growl, less bass, zero crispy highs.

So, as answered in so many ways.. no, there is no significant differences in gtr/bass amps, except for the (possibly) frequencies of tone controls. Then, there are the obvious characteristics posted here. -Power -Speaker size. -Open/closed construction. ...that are, only, characteristics...

So, there is three pages of this... Go find that proggie where you place dots on a fretboard and it tells you what the chord is. ..can't remember the name of the program, since I couldn't care less... I don't even know how A7 is fingered.:D
