Ok, I'm no expert on this topic either, but since you described just about my setup, I think I can answer this one.
The audiopfile 2496 has two inputs for jacks, left and right. The preamp will have 2 jacks out. You can also plug just one jack coming from your preamp in to either one of your...
Thanks knightfly,
that's a lot of usefull information there. I'm really glad the room isn't too small. Now I can’t wait to move in there. No doubt I’ll soon be back with more questions though :)
I'm moving into a new appartment in two months and I'm planning on setting up my 'studio' in a rather small room; 2 by 4 meter (8 by 14 feet) that has one big window.
I do drums in Fruity loops and guitar and bass through a preamp so nothing will change in recording those. I'm a little worried...
Mmm.. that's right, I hear you can't open an external editor in SX. I was just getting used to using Wavelabs cause it's a hell of a lot better than the internal VST editor.
Well I hope the internal SX editor can do the job then.
This question must have been answered numerous times, yet I can't seem to find it with the search function.
I'm currently using Cubase vst32 but I'm thinking of switching to SX. Will I be able to open my arrangements, made in vst32, without any problems in SX?
I guess it can but I just want...
If you really want a good soundcard for recording I recommend the audiophile 24/96, but that one costs 250 euro.
It's worth it though. It was my first soundcard too and it still is.
I have no idea what 100 euro soundcard will do the job, if any..
If you're even half serious about recording I'd...
Nice song. Those cymbals are a litte annoying indeed. Maybe if you didn't pan them to one side as much they wouldn't be that bad. I like the way it ends too.
So basically you're saying that commercial albums are mixed and mastered with some kind of a limiting deadline? That they are sometimes finished without the engineers being completely satisfied?
I find this hard to believe...
Thanks Scott.
I was hoping someone would say that. I don't think I could ever get to 24 tracks on my system, maybe if they were all audio..
Anyway now I can go on working on this song woohoo! (after I get home from work that is ;) )
Hmm.. thanks JR#97 I'll keep that in mind.
For now I kinda figured it out by myself (by browsing this board..).
I changed the DMA Buffer size from 384 to 1024 samples. This changed the latency from 9 to 23 milliseconds.
So now I record at 384 samples, to have the low latency and I'll mix...
I am currently working on a song that has a lot of midi (vst instruments) in it, by 'a lot' I mean 6..'
However my processor can't seem to handle this and I get a lot of clicks and pops and sometimes things start to go really slow.
This is really frustrating cause this keeps me from working...
Notice how the beginning of the discussion is almost two years old and Steinberg still hasn't come up with a solution that is driving numerous of its clients up the wall!
A lot of people have encountered this problem, myself included. It's not a latency problem, not a midi interface problem but an actual bug in Cubase. I always have to move the notes to the right place manually in the midi editor.
Anyway here's a link to a very big discussion on this problem. I...
Sounds very professional to me.
Too bad you do country (just kidding).
I don't know the original but a slide guitar would be a nice add.
High quality stuff.
I like the song. Nice harmonies. It's got a very high pace so something like a guitarsolo would be nice as a break to slow things down. hope you know what I mean. If not, just remember that I like this song.
The sample rate should always be set at 44,1 kHz.
Maybe it has something to do with the configuration of Cubase on your new pc. Have you tried changing the buffer size?
The delayed beats are very weird. Are you sure you set the bpm the same as they were in Fruity Loops?
After you've compressed a track, you cannot actually see it when you're looking at the track. The peaks will still be there as they were before. You do not physically change the track but put an effect on it. You should be able to hear the difference though. Keep in mind that you probably want...
