Would you compare the likes of NI's virtual instruments to the real old vintage keyboards like the pro 5? Turn round & say "nah the software virtual instrument is better because you can save your patches" i know i wouldn't ;)

i think that some people are comparing software compressors (they are cheap & more often than not come free bundled with other software) Vs the cost of hardware compressors. Obviousley software wins hands down & i don't think the jump in price from soft to hard is relative to the scale in terms...

Thanks soundchaser i still do that!! :D I try & incorporate the pinky but it tends just to act as a counterbalance for the rest of my fingers. When i finger pick i use only my thumb, index & middle finger :D

you don't really memorise the chords in your head, but remember then from songs and arrangment you played earlier. playing a simple song will help you to learn chords not memorising from a book. you'll end up getting it no probs :)

If you are going to sell it do it on ebay, don't sell it to any music shops - they'll give you a rediculous amount back & probably sell it on to someone for new.

I blame time - it ages people (they grow up). They (disco cover) new phrases like "hey metal is shit", "or i just shat out a bit of metal" etc :D

my experiance with floyd rose aint that great, kept going out of tune without any real pressure eg dive bombing etc. I don't dive. Nah it was pretty rotten, i prefer floating tremelo's. I'm not a metal freak or indie machine or whatever. I can dive "if i have to (although don't really want to)"...

compressing on the way in is stupid - you cant undo any mistakes as you can with software :D
