I really know crap about mic's, at least that much to be able to identify it...the only thing i can identify by brand and model it's the Studio...ummmm i know it's B1 or is it V...anyways...
Very entertaining trailer! Not a complete waste of time!
So in my chain i should do a limiter, and then the compression.
Limit the peaks first, so everything is more even
and then take the stuff that is more even now and compress it so it can be flatter.
Newbie myself in this, but i believe that's the way it works Pappy999
On the compression side i think there are more variable than just bringing the volume up.
Question, i see the different threads and what not, and sometimes people say something like;"use a medium to slow attack" "medium...

In that sing there is some empty spots every now and again that my daughter would sing/say something, to kinda do what you are talking about...but that chanting kinda thing...maybe we can come up with something cuz that intrigues me...kinda like that Jay Z song where he had an "arabic...
Hey hey!!! the lady is just starting out...my 16 yr old daughter...got sick and tired of listening to her singing to hip hop r&B and reggaeton (which is what is in there) and i'm putting some lirics and making her remember them and then start getting creative with the pitching and style of the...

Hey Big Ray!!!! lol that was funny. Whenever i have my daughter on the mic and start setting up the levels for her...i tell her sing me something...and she always starts with saying really slow...spoooongeeee booooob!

Hey Hey, This is going to be at the most...for just recording vocals over hip hop or reggae tracks...no instrument rec or nothing fancy like that since i 've got people producing instrumental at high quality for me...now ...i've got to get good enough to track a decent vocal that i could...
Well this is straight to the point... What i got so far?
M-Audio Firewire Solo
Studio Projects B1
My question besides the obvious is...Is it worth it to get me a mic pre amp considering i already have the one on the Interface???
What about monitors in the $150-$250 range? I was looking at the...
So you are saying get closer and do i try to stay at the same level -18 to -14db on my mic when recording? or Do i scratch that off and go by ear?
This is a song that i did, setting the levels up by ear when recording, and then adjusting it as needed in order to get a level vox track! (edit...
Ok ...if you are comparing them to the other songs...mastering for a CD so it can be a level plain..then yeah ...they are on par...but still i think they are on par...they actually don't distort on me either, but they have this effect that makes them go really hard on the mid's i think and sound...
being on the copyright subject....what is the best way to assure you got the copyright of your stuff...is there any site somebody can send me to to read about it. I heard a good practice being sending the stuff in a certificate envelope and never opening it unless you are in court.
Is this...
Hi im kinda new in here, but i wanted to ask the gurus and very helpfull people in here (LEE :D ) to blaze me with their knowledge. I have a RAW recording of my vox on top of an already finished and mastered instrumental.
I got just an SP B1 going into an M-Audio Firewire Solo Interface and...
I beg to differ, but at least on my super pro computer cheap ass speakers (30 buck altec lansin) they sound 1-2 tads too high. shed some light soundchaser on why you say neither? they get pretty distorded (<~~spelling please lol) in my speakers at a volume i ussually listen to reggae, hip hop...
Check if you are not getting too much latency! That's the time it takes for the note you just played in front of the mic to go into the PC and back out your monitors/speakers. Maybe that's the delay you are talking about. I can be too helpfull with my wording in english , but i bet somebody else...
Further more...when you say (and many othersin the forum) Dynamic riding, what exsactly you mean by this...is it manually adjusting sound ie volume, panning etc at different points of the track? im i even close???
