This is the first time in my guitar playing life that I've ever had a "board". I managed to find one on Kijiji (the Canadian equivalent of Craigslist) in the exact dimensions I needed (for only $65). Custom sized (about 33" wide X 24" deep) it would have cost me well over $250 to have one made...

For some reason, the tailpiece looks crooked. Maybe it's just the angle of the photo, but something looks off. However, if you like it, and it plays well, who cares. I'd like one too (although, I am not a sunburst guy, I'd prefer a solid colour). Enjoy!

If you want a good tuner, Lou, you can't beat a Peterson. I've got a Strobostomp, and it's by far the best tuner I've ever owned. A bit more expensive than other consumer tuners, but not unreasonable. And it's fun to look at.

You need a converter to take the signal from the GK-3 and convert it to MIDI. Whether that's a full blown synth like a GR 50 or just a simple converter like the GI-20, it's still required. There are pickup systems less expensive than Roland for this, that may do MIDI directly, not sure what is...

I always used to try playing my friends left handed guitars upside down. It's actually quite an interesting thing to do - you end up with some pretty cool licks when you flip your brain upside down like that. Hell, maybe I'll buy it and not even modify it !
