    Rip this one apart.....

Okay I'm taking offense to MY drum room! How is it that drum tracks need to be bright in the first place? Why cant the Ambience be added to taste rather than a big room sound that is the only thing to give the drums ring? I'm sorry but I've been working on my room for Years to give it a dead...

    Haunted Instruments?

Wow I've had gear do some odd stuff, like getting the shit shocked out of me one time when I was singing. I touched a bass amp that had the ground cut off the plug! I've had a four track recording play backwards, but that was due to a P.O.S. tascam 4 track recorder. :p

    Best drums for recording

Classic Rock Hey Nick, I would suggest looking up the Kit's that those drummer's played. (I.E.) What was popular during that time! I play a 80's Pearl export with a big kick and tom's! As for best recording... I would say that a custom PEARL Masterworks would be the Top's. ;)

    Which heads to go with?

I play Remo pinstripe on top and ambassador's on bottoms of my export. I dont know about you but I cant get any good tone out of my kit so I go for the low end deep sound.(Too many overtones!) Then again I play mostly rock/Funk.

    birch vs maple for recording

NICE STEAL!!!!! :D HEY Patlang12 I would say go with maple if your playing more live stuff. Let the engineers figure out the recording. You can do just about anything these days with all the plug in's they have. Pearl makes some nice Maple kit's. Good luck!

    What is a drummer for?

It's called a click track and any Pro drummer plays with it all the time in ears! Also, the Bass Guitar and Drums should be a unit! If someone throws you off you need to fix it or it will become part of the practice session, and become a flaw in the music. PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!!!!!! :D
