Give a little listen here there anywhere.... BAM!

Polished the newer song a little bit more... still need to track some more stuff as time allows. http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?fid=2004 Sounds ok?

what are some good tom and over head mics

Sennheiser e604s are really great for toms and the MXL 603s are very clean and open, albeit slightly too bright, depending on the kit you are using.

Give a little listen here there anywhere.... BAM!

I'll try and dullen the verb and the delay a little. I agree that sometimes it gets a little too obvious when it shouldn't be. The goofiness at 2:30 is me singing poorly. I cannot afford auto-tune nor would I ever like to use it. And thanks for the comments and the review! :D

cleaning the pots on a BBE processor?

you could always find what types of pots they were and just replace them with something better. Although, IMHO, the BBE processors do more harm than good... bastardizing your tracks or mixes with the processor commonly happens when people overuse these types of units.

Give a little listen here there anywhere.... BAM!

OOps! My above comment was pertaining to the new track I posted. In the previous song 'hard to breathe' I used almost the same gear, just no oktava - I used an MXL V67 instead. There was bass in that song, but I agree that its too low, but the bass itself sounded like crap, so I tried to tweak...

Give a little listen here there anywhere.... BAM!

Well, the acoustic was recorded with a MXL 603s and a Oktava 2500. Vocals were also done with the Oktava, then compression was lightly applied on the acoustics and a little more beefy on the vox, compliments of the ART Pro VLA. Interface: Firepod, mixed in Sony Vegas 6.0c. Thanks for the...

    From The Dogz

I liked it too! Nice riffage! One thing that may clear the beginning guitars is a small EQ dip around 120 Hz or so. It is peaking out when you muffle the strings. Other than that miniscule detail, thats all I got! Great job dude!

Give a little listen here there anywhere.... BAM!

Sorry about the song being a really short snippet. Its all that is presentable at this point in time.

Give a little listen here there anywhere.... BAM!

hey! I appreciate the listen! Thanks for the comments too! I am still thinking that I do not want to add a whole lot to the song, as I think most of the other songs that surround it will be busier. here's a new song I just recorded real quick. This is a rough take and I know I get out of tune...

    please comment those cpu parts

If I were you, I would not trust a 'BEST' power supply to be one of the most critical parts of the computer. skimping out on that = computer dead in the water sooner than you hope. And, the ASUS board will have standard PCI slots (not just PCIe).

VLA use for hard limiting(or hard knee)

I have messed with my VLA for many asession and have yet to have a good 'hard limiting' sound come out of it. Its not a real tube compressor, nor does it have the compressing finesse to hard limit with no pumping artifacts. Just save up for a distressor or LA-2A! :p

    Public Mix Contest #12!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, it bothered me as well. It is especially bad in the very beginning of the song with just the drum hits.
